The easiest, fastest and cheapest way is to travel by subway what is called metro in Dutch. The subway system works with an OV-chip card. In the (silver)machines at the station you can buy a one way OV-chip card for € 2,70 (valid for one hour) or a day ticket for € 7,50. All metro’s, buses and trains stop at Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena Station.
To get to the hostel follow these directions:
From station Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena (which is a train and a metro station) you take the exit on the right (next to the Starbucks) towards the big building that is under construction. When you are walking towards the building, look for a sign that says 'Hostelle 100 meter' (NOTE: the t from Hostelle is missing, so it actually says 'Hos elle 100 meter').
Just go straight ahead until you come across a square. Infront of you is a bicycle path, where you will see the next sign saying 'Hostelle' with an arrow pointing to the left. On your left hand you will see a supermarket called the Lidl. Turn left there.
Once you turned left you will see a a viaduct/a overpass) with a freeway above. Walk under this. You will also pass a library (called Openbare Bibliotheek van Amsterdam) on your right.
Once you go under the overpass and passed the library, look to your right and you'll see a green fence on the right hand side.
Go through the gate of the fence and you see the 'Zomixed' sign (It's red/white)
This is the Frankemaheerd/Zomixed building and that's where we are. At the reception mention that you are a guest of Hostelle. We are located at the fourth floor.
From Schiphol Amsterdam Airport
You can take the intercity train from Schiphol to Eindhoven or Nijmegen. Get off at Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena Station. From the station it’s a short 8 minute walk to Hostelle. The train ride costs € 3,50 for a single journey in second class. The train ride will take approximately 15 minutes.
From Amsterdam Central Station
Take subway number 54 departing from Central Station. Get off at Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena Station. From the station it’s a short 8 minute walk to Hostelle. The subway ride costs € 2,00 for a single journey and is valid for one hour. The ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Please note that the last subway departs at 00.24 at night.
