The location was great - right in the middle of everything. The guys who run it are really nice and gave us great advice. The atmosphere was ideal for younger travelers who want to meet people but also want a quiet place to sleep without the dorm-style sleeping.

Eric walked us to our own apartment then explained all the places we should visit on a map. We got round most of what he recommended and it was an amazing trip.
The apartment was right in the red light district so there is lots to see just round the corner. Plenty of coffeeshops, hookers, bars and shops. Awesome

The proprietors were very nice, oriented us well to A'dam when we got there. Rooms are small, but everything in Amsterdam is small. On the nicer side of the Red Light district- close to Dam Square and pretty quiet for such a busy area. Couldn't even hear other guests. Great hospitality (fridge with snacks, coffee)- and no hovering- totally left to do our own thing- here's the keys, a card with phone #s and directions back to the hotel. I'd call it a B&B more than a hostel, as it's clean, casual but run professionally, and light "get it yourself" snacks are provided. We sincerely hope that airheaded American teens don't ruin the Cribs' scene and take advantage of the hosts' coolness. And I can say that, 'cause I am American, and there were some pretty dumbas$ Yank teens in A'dam when we were there. The Cribs is a place only for those who can chill without being stupid. It's like a house- you're visiting- clean up after yourself. And if you want luxury, pay for it. The Cribs is a place for adults. Oh yeah- it's easiest to get up the (narrow winding) stairs if you crawl up it sideways like when you were a kid. Especially if you are "impaired".

The hostel is in a gr8 location next to, well everything in Amsterdam! The staff are very helpful and someone is available at all times.
Its a gr8 place and would recomend it!

I got to the hostel early waaay early . I was able to store my baggage untill the room was ready, oo a problem came up with my room and they put me into another till probem was resolved. The staff was great everyone eager to help with anything. i will stay here again for sure .Location was so great just steps from everything ,ten minute from central station....

The staff were absolutely dappers!!!!! The guy that met us at the hostel was cained and it set the tone nicely for the trip!! The was food and tea/coffee ect available along with free internet and a selection of dvd's! You can smoke in the hostel which is a plus! The rooms were a bit dirty but that myt of been our fault as much as theirs. Plenty of hot water tho! I would recommend this hostel to younger parties who are just out to get smashed and have a good time!

location was brilliant, right in walking distance/stumbling distance of everything, the apartment was briilliant because you could always go back and chill out in your place and relax if you couldnt afford to stay out all the time,would recommend it to anyone whose going to the dam, great value for money worth paying an couple extra euro to have privacy
and not have other people walking around the place.
