Liked: Liked location. Close to everything, heart of tourist area. Room clean and big enough, nice to have fridge and microwave. Quiet.

Disliked: No breakfast. Sort of different...more like a student apartment. Hard to locate, no sign out front and owner had to walk us to the building, or else we never would have found it.

Liked: Alex welcomed us warmly. The property was well within walking distance of everything, lovely canal view. clean and quite everything we needed in the room shared bathroom again this was expectional clean. planning to stay again with Alex

Disliked: Steap stairs and a narrow hallway would make it difficult to get to the apartment with a lager suit case

Liked: Pretty much everything! It was exactly as described with a fantastic view over the canal, a little table by the window, a fridge, tea & coffee making facilities & even a hair dryer. Alexander was really friendly & helpful too. The bed was lovely and big & the shared bathroom always spotless. The location was perfect for walking to all the major (and less major) attractions & with a direct bus to the airport just down the road, we couldnt have asked for anything else.

Disliked: The only bad thing about the room was it was over a bar. It didn't bother us too much as we were so tired from all the sightseeing that we would sleep through anything but if you are a alight sleeper you may struggle a bit.

Liked: I reserved a wonderful room at Nieuwmarkt with private bathroom. Amazing place in centre of Amsterdam! Room was very clean, bright and I've got everything that I was expected and even more! Staff was very friendly, nice and polite. Definitely will stay there next time. Highly recommended!

Disliked: nothing at all.

Liked: the location was great and close to everything. The staff were very friendly and made you feel at ease.

Disliked: Was a little difficult to find the place at first, this was probably because it is a b&b and not a hotel.

Liked: Great location (once we got to the correct place)! Good size room with fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities!

Disliked: There are 2 locations, so make sure you read carefully which one you are given because you could end up at the wrong place wondering why nobody is there! Both are in very good locations close to all the action! The only negative was the central heating in the newmarket room did not work very well but a small electric heater was provided.

Liked: Alexander's provided us with a cosy, and homely stay. Alexander was very friendly, and accommodating. We were impressed to have a well stocked selection of tea, and coffee in our room. We had the front room overlooking the cannel, which was pretty. Alexander's is in a great location close to local night spots but far enough away that you are not prevented from sleeping. We would definitely recommend this guest house to a friend, and would very much like to return for another visit in the future.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.....

Liked: It was a nice room in a good location.

Disliked: The place we stayed had a cat door. The elevator had a warning on it saying "elevator condemed not suggested for use." We were accused of being loud and noisey when we were not even there. He was very rude and unkind about making the payment. Does not say on webside that the property doent take credit cards.

Liked: It's a really nice apartment with a good view. Close to Amsterdam's most important museum, and close to the tram and bus stops which allow you to get easily wherever you want.

Disliked: The bathroom is shared with the other rooms, and the place is a bit noisy at night.

Liked: Alexander is helpful, wonderful room with microwave, coffee machine, small fridge, television and even bathrobes!! Location is good, close to a popular and lively square with live performers, pubs, but it wasn't noisy at night. Those Dutch stairs are a killer though if you have luggage- you have to ninja up them.

Disliked: We found it a little strange that it is called a bed and breakfast, without breakfast included though, but it was ok, we sorted ourselves out.

Liked: This is THE place to stay in Amsterdam, if you want somewhere really central, cosy, clean and friendly, and something that's a bit different to same old hotels. It has character, and gives a more authentic stay! Alexander is great, he has the right balance of helpful service, and leaving you to your own devices! We had no problem with noise at all, and don't know why people have written it's hard to get to?? The bus is as close to door to door as you'll ever get! We just asked at the airport and they kindly told us which bus stop. Just google map it before you go, it's only a 5 min walk from Leiseplein stop! And the bus is very cheap. If you take the train you then have to get a bus or tram from there, lots of bother! We are in our mid 20's so don't think this is only for maybe the older generation! You're so close to museums, bars, restaurants, and only maybe a half hour stroll to the red light district. We would definitely go back, and there are two bedrooms next door to each other so you could go as a four and get all you need! Alexander also provided us with museum passes that saved us 60euros! It was cold when we went, but the room was warm and cosy, with a huge comfy bed! If like us you would be out and about, or just want to have a relaxing night in, Alexander B&B is the perfect spot! 10out of 10! :)

Disliked: We didn't have anything we disliked about the property. When booking we thought sharing a bathroom would be a pain, but we never saw the other guests, and for such a good price, location, and quality of the room, does it really matter??

Liked: We have staid at the location at Nieuwmarkt, which was a bit of suprise because Hostelbookers set the dot a bit further away. The suprise was a good one, since the apartment was even more central, literally about 5 minutes walking from the Dam Square and the Red Light District. The apartment is oriented towards a backyard, we have staid in a room on under the roof with a nice skylight and lots of light. Even though this was in February and the air was freezing, it was very warm. The room was good in every respect, nice beds, clean and large bathroom with , it was a good experience to stay. Room service was offered, but we didn't use it. There is also a TV and free internet, if you should need it.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: The location for that price is perfect, you can reach everything from there by walk. Alexander, the owner is very helpful and nice person. It's only two room so quite is assured.

Liked: This is a flat located in the center of Amsterdam, near the most important museums of the city. With the tram is very easy an fast to go to the very center (Dam square); this is a really strategic location, the best choice where to spend my days; the place around is full of restaurants and night life and anyway it's a safe and quiet location: no strange noises or screams at night. The owner is very polite and nice, he can help you for everything. Nothing more to add, just go there and enjoy Amsterdam!

Liked: The beautiful view of the canal from the front bedroom was amazing to wake up to. The mini fridge and coffee maker were also nice to have.

Disliked: The directions from the tram stop were kind of confuzing. (We asked for help and got sent in the wrong direction by like 6 different people, even a police officer!) Once you get off the stop, face the H&M then go right. Make a left in front of the restaraunt/bar on the corner. Then just follow the canal until the Castell sign.

Liked: It was in a good location and it was a nice place to stay for couples who didnt want to stay at a typical hostel.

Disliked: The directions to the hostel from the airport were not the best. The directions once you got of the bus were lacking. It would be helpful if they could be more detailed. Additionally be advised that it is best if you bring ear plugs as the area contains quite alot of bars and can be noisy at night.

Liked: I was pleasantly surprised by the property! Our room was lovely and modern, the photos on-line do not do it justice! Alexander was very welcoming and even gave us two passes so that we could get into local museums for free! There are only two guest rooms within the B&B so sharing a bathroom and toilet was not a problem, again the bathroom and toilet room were extremely modern and clean. The facilities in our room included a TV, towels, dressing gowns, mini fridge and an array of tea bags! It really was a fab little place.

Disliked: There was nothing that I disliked! Will definitely be going back :)

Liked: My partner & I have been traveling through UK & Amsterdam was our first stop in Europe after the UK We would say that this has been the best accommodation so far! Alexander is a delightful host - makes you fell very welcomed. We stayed for 4 nights! Had the best time - found it difficult to find the place - word of advice no matter what catch the tram 1, 2 or 5 from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Our taxi driver got lost and dropped us further away. Tram ticket can be bought from tourist information office for about 7 euro for one person gives you 24 hrs of usage. The B&B really comfy. Bed super comfy & clean plus clean bathroom.

Disliked: sometimes a little loud at night until about 2 am but usually quitened down after then even on Friday night. There is a restaurant underneath and sometimes patrons are a little loud - tip close bedroom window or pretend to close window - make sure they notice you and they tend to move away from area close to bedroom window or lower their voices. Honestly really didn't bother me too much, nothing earplugs or listening to your iPod / music can't fix.

Liked: comfortable and familiar atmosphere, very friendly and helpful! very clean and nice furniture. there is coffee, tea, a hair dryer, microwave and a fridge in the rooms. moreover, it's very central, directly at the "Leidseplein" with a lot of shops, restaurants and bars but it's nevertheless very silent!

Disliked: nothing
