Liked: Experience of staying on a boat in a cabin like room was awesome! Toilets and room were very clean, though small.

Disliked: About 15 min walk from the train station. May not be safe to walk at night alone because houseboat is situated at the docks

Liked: We stayed on the Vita Nova on a Sunday night because it was considerably cheaper than any other hostel in Amsterdam. It was a lot better then we expected. The only downfall is that it is about a 10-15 min walk from the coffee shops and the red light district. It was very clean and staff was very kind. The rooms were very small but all we really needed for the one night.

Liked: the temperature in the rooms, the breakfast and the captains!

Disliked: The position of our beds (bed put on bed) because i can see the others rooms better than me, and the showers.

Liked: The place is nice, well located, a good alternative to a hostel. Good breakfast with nice view.

Disliked: The rooms (cabins) are very little, not to spend a lot of nights.

Liked: I liked the idea of staying on a boat, the location was pretty good, only about a 20 minute walk to central station and city center. It was very clean and the guy running it was really nice.

Disliked: I found it hard to sleep. I stayed in a private room with 2 beds and it was very tiny. Only 1 bathroom on floor and 2 showers,and the shower rooms were tiny. I kept waking up to this white noise, not sure what it was but it sounded like the wood creaking. First night I could not sleep. Second was a little better , I stayed on the top bunk and listened to music to fall asleep.

Liked: vitanova was very nice boathostel with very friendly staff.our cabin was cosy. breakfast were delicious.location was good.

Liked: It was in a nice position, it was a traditional Dutch boat.

Disliked: The room was microscopic, and it smelled bad.

Liked: Great place for the originality :) Cosy narrow cabins, nice view from the common room as you have your great breakfast, all wooden style. Ideal place for a romantic trip or a back-packer's unique experience.Fear not the winter : freezing cold outside, but warm with hot water inside. It's even suitable if you're over 1m90 !Only hitch : the "bike rental service" wasn't actually offered and the "free internet" is in fact that of the crowded library 10 minutes away. And Hostelbookers apparently has troubles reaching the hostelboat's staff.
