A hotel perfectly suited to the ambience of Amsterdam. While the place is slightly shabby with steepest staircase in history, the staff are wacky, fun loving and very accomodating, the breakfast's great and so are the views. Will definately go back there.

When we got there, the first thing the reception guy said was my name followed by a big smile. This friendly attitude continued for the rest of our stay, which made us all feel really welcome. for the money this place is great, the room itself was very clean and I had no hesitation in leaving my DSL behind during our night time outings. Breakfast was a little basic but eggs, cheese, bread, coffee and spread is not bad when it is included in the 20 euro / night. The location was very handy to centre of town and away from the main redlight district as well as only being a 10 minute walk from Centraal station. I would not hesitate in staying here again or recommending it to other budget conscious travellers.

Brilliant location! great views looking over the canal! There is also mood lighting, smoking in rooms (unofficial) and really friendly staff! would recommend to anyone!

Good staff the 1st night, but after that the staff did not seem to know much about the city and you really had to push them to get them to stuff. However, great location, cheap and on a beautiful street and a nice property

Nice place with gently staff and a very friendly black cat. Very small amsterdam-typical stairs. (not easy to carry your baggage up to the 3rd floor) Small, very warm room but comfortable and with washbasin in the inside. Breakfast was delicious. Its ok to stay there for a few nights when you spend the most of the time outside in the city anyways .
