Liked: The location just cannot be bettered. The pool table and smoking room is great too!

Disliked: The staff were evidently unhappy and it didn't seem like a very healthy working environment. Some of that was bound to show up in their interaction with guests, though they did try to be helpful.

Liked: One guy on reception was really helpful and friendly, recommending places to eat & directing us around the city. Free wifi in bar was good, bathrooms were pretty clean too.

Disliked: One niggle would be that there was barely enough light to see in the bathroom. Also it didn't feel completely secure, but the staff assured us that they kept a close eye on who was coming and going.

Liked: Loved the location!!! Right in front of the RLD, had a cool bar downstaris and good food too!

Disliked: It could have been a cheaper stay...

Liked: The location.

Disliked: The staff - if you arrive during night time, they're not friendly at all, even thought you've noticed them of you time of arrival. The room didn't look clean, and it smell bad.

Liked: It was central to a lot of things, and if you are staying there, the bar is open 24 hours.

Disliked: TERRIBLE value for the money. most expensive hostel i stayed in the entire time i was in europe. one of my roommates was a 50+ year old man who stripped naked, lay face up on the bed and asked me to whip him for money. When I told the front desk that it had happened, and not just to me, they just shrugged. not enough lockers for beds, HOT HOT HOT. no air flow what so ever.

Liked: It was my best experience with Amsterdam hostels so far. Location is perfect. I've never seen such a clean bathrooms and showers in any other hostel (Croydon, Travel Hotel, White Tulip, Amsterdam Centre). They have a nice personal and a good bar to have some fun. I met so many cool buddies to chat there :)

Disliked: wifi spot is too small, not even covers all the bar area, and not that many other facilities

Liked: Close to Amsterdam Central station and in the city centre.

Disliked: No kitchen, no lounge, and the bar was completely and utterly dead.

Disliked: There was no where to hang out except the bar downstairs but it did not have a very good atmosphere.

Liked: Good location, walking distance to everywhere. Beds are comfortable. Clean bathrooms. Area around the hostel is safe.

Disliked: Wifi broke down regularly in the hostel. There wasn't enough electrical sockets in the large dorm for everyone. No quiet common area apart from the bar advertised.

Liked: central location, recent makeover has transformed the hotel into a much cleaner and comfortable place.

Disliked: alcoholic drinks too expensive , 4.50 a pint !!

Liked: The staff was very helpful and nice. It was in a great location and I would definitely stay there again. The bathrooms were also really great.

Disliked: The room was a bit dirty but it wasn't anything horrible.

Liked: Rooms were clean, place to store luggage, private bathrooms

Disliked: Doesn't clarify in the description that its RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the Red Light Area - so this can be quite a surprise if it wasn't your intent to explore that part of Amsterdam. Also, very noisy sports bar downstairs.

Disliked: The atmosphere might be improved, it didn't apper to me as the best place to meet new people.

Liked: Its close to everything... Coffeeshops, shopping, and central station is all within a less than 10 min walk. The staff was AWESOME!! Especially the night guys, they are a lot of fun and know all the sweet spots around town that are off the touristy path. The smoke room and bar downstairs is really convienant and the food is actually pretty good for being hostel food! Also the staff was really flexible and allowed us to arrive late and leave our stuff in the room ect. The rooms overlook the street and are always cleaned. The bathrooms are brand new and usually very clean, maybe a little dirty after a Friday night. I definatly recommend this hostel is you want someplace cheap, central, and fun!

Disliked: Not a lot, its a typical hostel property... I always had to be quite because people were always sleeping in the rooms but thats not exactly the property's fault. This is a decent hostel that is a lot cheaper than other properties with the SAME stuff... definatly reccomend!

Liked: free wifi, close to train station, preferable to sleeping on the street

Disliked: cold, literally no privacy, inadequate bedding, very strict 'no outside food in the bar' policy

Liked: Perfect location, 5 minutes walk from the train station and only a minute from the 'window shopping' bars and restaurants. the rooms were great - we stayed in a 6 bed private dorm, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was newly decorated and really nice, constant hot water and really helpful staff. downstairs bar didn't shut till 5am whch wasn't any sort of an issue as if you as when your in your room you don't notice it. The bar was reasonable about 3.50/4.00 for a pint as Amsterdam is itself extortionate it can cost anything from 3.50 to 10!! euros for a pint. food isn't too bad as long as your not looking for anything fancy.

Disliked: wasn't really any dislikes....... however if I had any critisim it would be that only having 1 mirror in a room and it being in the bathroom is a bit of a pain :)
