 De Lantaerne is right next to Leidseplein, but just tucked away so its a nice quiet place to retreat to. The hotel itself is a beautiful tall Amsterdam building with a great set of classic narrow, steep stairs. Its definately one for unpretencious seasoned travellers.

Location location location! And it is really neat and tidy. I would definitely recommend the hostel for party revellers that like staying in a crelaxed, clean, safe environment.

everything was fantastic but like alot of places in amsterdam the steps were so steep it was not funny. seriously about a 90% angle. if you have a few drinks be very careful

Great location, near major shopping, restaurants, and bars. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our flight was oversold and we arrived a day late. We asked to stay one more day and the hotel agreed -- we did not lose money for the first day we missed; it was applied to the additional day we requested.

the location was perfect, it is close to the leidseplein and good connections but still quiet. breakfast was also very good.

This hostel's location was excelent! Just a block away from lots of nice restaurants and bars, and just a 10-minute walk from the City center and the Red Light District!

The owner and the staff was very friendly and helpfull. You get new towels every day, breakfast was simple but fresh and nice. The location of the hostel was perfect - walking distance to everything.
