Liked: Really cool hostel with nice bar (with billiards!) and great atmosphere. In a smokers' room there was no problem with smoking anything the Amsterdam could offer us ;) Everything about the hostel itself was fine - room and toilets/showers were clean, breakfasts were tasty and members of the staff were always ready to help. 3-minutes walk to a beach is also a great thing, even at the end of october ;)

Disliked: Nordwijk is bit far from Amsterdam: on a map it looks like not a big distance, but it took us an hour to get to the centre of the city by car - I can only guess how long it takes by train or bus... There is also a little problem with leaving the car on a street - the nearest area free of charge for parking is about 15 minutes on foot from hostel.

Liked: Great fun place to stay, plenty of young staff so even if your here on a queit night there's still people around, not a place for people who want to sleep early, but they make that clear on there page! I was here in winter, but still enjoyed a walk on the (sandy!) beach & a few nights out of Amsterdam to chill out :) shuttle bus was also awesome, made it so easy to get here & back!

Disliked: no problems :)

Liked: Free breakfast, wifi and shuttle. Friendly, helpful staff, nice rooms with lockers for security, plenty of bathrooms.

Disliked: Late one night a group of 5 drunk travellers was checked into my room when there were plenty of other rooms available. I was moved the next day when I complained, but it really disturbed my sleep that night as they were really noisy and woke me up several times.

Liked: the hostel was outside of the city so that sucked but it was in a nice beach town wher everyone was nice. the reception was awsome and very friendly. the showers were alright and the beds were good. good for the money if you dont mind being out of the city

Liked: great atmosphere, great indoor decoration. Very friendly staff and very welcoming vibes - also from all the other guests.

Disliked: when it was raining during the day there was practically nothing to do if you don't have the money to go to Leiden or Amsterdam. We slept, read, ate, chilled all day but it was fine. The evenings compensated for the lazy day times

Liked: Pretty chilled out atmosphere, really cool staff and close to a nice beach (pretty windy though)

Disliked: Toilets and showers were a bit old and smelly at times. If your not into smoking weed then your might feel a little uncomfortable here, a third of the bar area is dedicated to smoking.

Liked: We had a GREAT time at this hostel. Sad we were only there one night. It's a total party hostel, so if you want to sleep I would not recommend it. The staff are so nice, extremely helpful, and know how to PARTY. No security or cleanliness issues, just what you would expect from a hostel.

Disliked: Nowhere to lock up suitcases, but not really a big deal. Loud, but we were part of the noise!

Liked: Wow. This hostel is party central!! If you want a good nights sleep and to chill, DONT GO! Haha. However, you can pretty much expect to have a great time if you're looking for a party. Breakfast was great. The beach is right across the street.

Disliked: Too far from the city. The shuttle buses only run 4 times a day so you really have to plan your day if you decide to go anywhere.

Liked: This hostel is a good time. It was so nice to get out of the city and just chill. The staff were a riot and extremely kind - I got tonsillitis while I was there and they were constantly making me some kind of hot-drink-remedy. They often hung out with us and took us places around the town. The beach is right across the road - and it is a great beach! The free breakfast is basic, but hey, it's included (not that many people got up in time to partake!) . We all hung out in the bar each night, and it was really easy to meet people and make new friends. There's also a restaurant right across the road that we often went to because it's cheap and they have the most amazing onion soup I've ever had in my life plus a huge variety of crepes!

Disliked: The hostel is about an hour's drive from Amsterdam and the shuttle to/from was often full, so you had to book well in advance if you wanted to get to the city for the day. The hostel is really noisy until about 3a.m., so don't expect to get much sleep before then if you're staying in the basement - it's not quite as bad if you're a few floors up.

Liked: Very clean.

Disliked: In one way of the other they will keep with the 15 Euros deposit of the keys. The night before they say I'll check out in the morning. Next day, at 8 am, the girl in the front desk with a terrible attitude said check out should have been done the night before... very annoying! The shuttle is not very available to the schedule they mention, plus is terribly a long distance to Amsterdam Centraal.

Liked: Great place to meet new people and a good base for exploring the local area. Lovely helpful staff and generally just a good atmosphere. Amazing breakfast too compared to other places i have stayed

Liked: i had a ball here. so close to the beach, shuttle runs to and from amsterdam central and its free. also the bus to leiden is 4 euro and takes half an hour if u wanna go buy pot. i stayed here for 3 nights after being in the city for 3 nights. theres oppertunity to stay up, drink and party. or u chill and read a book. there is a big library of books and a raised area in the smokers room thats covered with pillows. staff are really friendly. good facilities (kitchen was spotless)

Disliked: weird set up in the room, the showers were in the middle of the dorm, but theres kinda an unspoken law, when the doors shut nobody comes in. so it was sweet. lable ur food properly, most of mine was eaten cause i didnt lable it... id stay there again.

Liked: When you book at the flying pig, you know what to expect. A lot of fun aka drinking, smoking, loud music etc. great place to hang out and to meet other travellers. Its more like a bar with a hostel, than a hostel with a bar.

Disliked: It is expected when you book. Don't expect to come here to sleep, relax, etc. It is noisy and the beds have a plastic feel to them, a little uncomfortable, but hey, afterall it is a hostel.

Liked: I liked everything about this hostel! The staff, upon arrival greeted me with so much friendliness, the beach was close by and I met some amazing people. I would have liked to stay longer, I will definitely be going back there!

Disliked: It was quite a distance from Amsterdam, but the free shuttle service made everything much easier =)

Disliked: I think so good for the summer becausse no far the bleach so for me I'm com early for the best season . just for the visited amsterdam so far this city .
