Liked: awsome place too spend ur stay in amsterdam. Nice staff, free clean linnen, huge lounge with free high speef wifi, park across the street, kool in hostel bar...simply the best hostel experiance i got so far and super secure lockers in and out your rooms

Liked: Really functional and friendly, great rooms and amazing breakfast.

Disliked: No powerpoints, and no wifi in rooms- but that's about it!

Liked: Really liked the location as it was in Vondelpark but is about 20 min walk to the city centre, but far enough away to be safe/quiet. rooms were clean and the lockers were huge! The reception had loads of discounted tickets for sights. The bar also had pretty good drink deals.

Disliked: A bit more pricey than other hostels.

Liked: My room arrangement was very good--a four-person ensuite with a private bathroom and shower. The room was clean and so were the sheets. The staff was friendly and helpful and the fact that I could buy tickets for the museums at the front desk was definitely an asset. I had originally planned to come with a friend but then I had to change my reservation and I had no problem doing that either.

Disliked: My room was on the first floor and very close to the entrance so it would be a bit loud at night but besides that, the experience was wonderful.

Liked: The location was great, staff was really helpful and friendly.

Disliked: The hostel is quite big and did not have its own character. Will be nice if there is a quest kitchen.

Liked: Large and clean. Great breakfast, cheap drinks at the bar. Great location if you aren't wanting to be right in the centre.

Disliked: Free wi-fi but have to pay to use their computers, it seemed a little silly. There wasn't a good common social area... just a few computers.

Liked: The hostel is located in one of the most vibrant area of city. There are lots of restaurants and coffeeshops around. Also, a big plus is that the nearest tram is located only 5 minutes walking distance from the hostel.

Disliked: Though we had made our reservations well in advance, the hostel was not able to accommodate our group in a co-ed floor, which created a little hassle to communicate with the female members of our group.

Liked: I had stayed at the Stadsdoelen Stayokay a few weeks back and this property is way ahead on cleanliness and being altogether a more nicer place to stay.

Disliked: If I had a gripe it would the usual no electrical sockets near the bed

Liked: Next to a lovely big park. Quite spacious rooms for 6 people. Great breakfast - lots to choose from.

Disliked: A little overpriced.

Liked: It was in a great location. Room was quite handy and comfy compared to other hostels. I enjoyed the shower and toilet ensuite as well as the stable bunk beds (dormitory) - that's by far not always the case. The breakfast was very good, too.

Disliked: Nothing coming to my mind --- it was very nice.

Liked: Good location, right near the entertainment districts. Very easy to get at whatever sort of activities you're after in Amsterdam. Also a ton of restaurants nearby which you may or may not be eating far too much at, depending on whether you visit coffee shops before hand. Also the rooms were alright, and though we weren't around the hostel very often it seemed like the bar and reception area were fairly popular and good for socialising.

Disliked: Elevator was broken so we had to walk up like 8 flights of stairs which isn't easy at the end of a night. Also their ice cream machine broke and then our chips got stuck in their vending machine :O but they were very helpful in returning money lost to the machine and getting our chips out.

Liked: The location is great - out of the city center so its quiet, but still close enough to walk to everything you want to see. Facilities are good, rooms were very clean, etc. For a free breakfast, the breakfast was pretty good. The prices are high, but that's true of pretty much all accommodation in Amsterdam.

Disliked: It's a huge hostel, and though it has excellent facilities, it loses something when it comes to character. When I was there it was full of teenagers on group trips, so not the best place to meet other 20-something travelers which is part of why I stayed in a hostel. There were often not enough people working the front desk, so you would have to wait in line for 5-10 mins just to ask a simple question.

Liked: Location only.

Disliked: I´ve stayed for two times at Stayokay. The first one was in 2006 and the last one in this month. Unfortunately, I hated my last time. I stayed with my girlfriend in a doubleroom. Terrible room. Small and narrow room. Horrible mattresses. I thought I was sleeping on wood. Too expensive for a " camping" room. Please, Think about others hostels. STAYOKAY NERVER MORE!!!!
