Liked: Everything under one roof - felt more like being in someone's house than being in a hotel - bar, cafe, pool table, sofas. Open 24 hours so coming and going was easy with keycards. Right in the centre of amsterdam, beside the beautiful vondelpark. Very helpful friendly staff. Good showers, lots of hot water, bathrooms were large and clean.

Disliked: It was very hot - possibly not the hostels fault though - difficult to not make it so hot maybe.

Liked: Great location within walking distance of museums, bars, restaurants, clubs, coffeeshops, tram stops, etc. Also, it was nice to have a little bar/cafe downstairs for dinner.

Liked: It was tucked away in a quiet location but it was within close walking distance to the local bar/restaurant scene.

Disliked: It wasn't the best atmosphere to meet people, but that's also dependent on the individual. It was kind of a secluded walk so it could be a bit intimidating late at night. Also, I stayed in a 6 person room and there was only showers, but it didn't end up being a problem for me.

Liked: For being in a 20 person room, it felt much smaller and more personal. Definitely felt safe with all of my belongings there. The breakfast was an amazing start to the day! Lots of information on what to do around Amsterdam

Disliked: The bathrooms!! Our last night, one of the showers was permanently locked, one's lights didn't work, and the other had blood/vomit/mud/something all over it.

Liked: Location

Disliked: Towels are not included in the price and you must pay 3,50 euros for a towel very very small and thin. And you must buy another one to be used as a bath mat, because they don't have curtains in the shower and the bathroom becomes flooded. The room is also very small.

Liked: The youth club feel. Birght open reception area. The clean packaged bed sheets. Cheap internet access. Lots of local information available.

Liked: The location was good and it has a good bar.

Disliked: It's fine to pay for wireless internet, but it was after buying a 5 hours pass that I got to know that wireless works only in the lobby area. Paying for internet that does not work in the rooms does not sound like a good deal. The room was clean but the rest of the hostel, like corridors and stairs, were quite dirty.

Liked: Great location and breakfast - As we were travelling in a group we had a dorm to ourselves which was ideal.

Disliked: When we got to our room it looked as if the room hadn't been cleaned, there were rubbish bags on the floor. To their credit though when we complained they came and cleaned the room for us.

Liked: I loved the secluded location right next to the park. It feels tucked away, and yet so close to the sights and the city. It was so clean! I felt so cozy in my bed- much more comfortable than a hotel I had stayed in the night before and 5 times as much for. I stayed in one of the largest rooms and everyone was very respectful, I did not lock up any of my luggage and felt perfectly safe.

Disliked: I did not like paying 3.50 for a tiny towel, but this is a tiny gripe.

Liked: This is a very big hostel so there was plenty of space and facilities. It is located close to Vondelpark, which is beautiful and quiet. The room was very big and the beds comfortable.

Disliked: Since this is a big place, it's mostly for groups and therefore difficult to meet people. It felt very impersonal and lacked character. There was too much light and since there 20 people in the room coming and going, it was very difficult to sleep properly.

Liked: Cant fault this hostel, very good, very clean with friendly reception. Location is great, close to where you want to be but also in a fairly quiet area besie Vondlepark.

Disliked: although they offer good facilities, they are not cleaned up properly. It`s DIRTY and has declined considerably since my last stay about a year ago, how disappointing! And the Rude staff. And internet is NOT free, unlike most hostels I have stayed in (how greedy). And by the way, if you are looking for a place to socialize and are above 25, chances are, you will get disappointed. Mostly teens and family-oriented hostel.

Liked: the team, who was cleaning the toilets downstairs, cleaning lady, who cleaned the room - they all did a marvelous job.and a male receptionist was a real sweety.breakfast was really nice.I liked the way you can get on the doorstep from the park.

Disliked: other people, who were in the room, were always late and they have been disrespectful to others in room. I know it is a property mainly for young people and that you cannot do anything if young people are rude, but there should be a code of behavior in your hostel. I have problems with my leg and would really have needed the lift, but the light was ALWAYS on, so I used the stairs, which were high and narrow. I do not know, why you have to buzz your way in the second door. If I have the card, I should go straight in. I know it is a safety feature, but still. Padlocks on the door should have been included in the price, and a towel also. I hate when you get the feeling that the hostel is trying to squeeze more money from you. Secondly, why I felt like somebody was trying to squeeze more money from me, was the use of internet. When looking this hostel up, nobody mentions, that you will have to pay through the nose to check your emails. Come on, it is 2010. Everybody has a second life on internet, why would you limit us to 15 min for 1.5? That is just unfair. Thirdly, the prices for drinks in the vending machines were ridiculous. Ok, coffee was cheap, but soft drinks? Why would you have such prices?

Liked: Awesome location, giant structure. Cheap beer and loads of funny people in the bar. Clean bedrooms. Very close to the amazing Voldelpark, it's a privilege.

Liked: everything from the bedroom to the breakfast, the whole lot was more than i asked for! i am shocked that a few customers left unfavourable reviews about this property because i saw no faults whatsoever! The staff, the breakfast, the bedrooms, the location, the atmosphere, the shower were all a ten over ten.

Disliked: absolutely nothing apart from the price of the internet but then i found internet usage to be pretty expensive in the whole of mainland Europe.
