It was in a good location, cheap, and relatively clean. It's not a good place to meet people if you are on your own, though.

I'm sorry to be so negative but this hostel needs a bad review to warn backpackers to look elsewhere for hostels. This may be one of the cheapest hostels in AMS (one of the reasons I booked it) but it is extremely over priced! We got into our hostel late at night- 7 am (AMS rocks!) and were rudely woken up at 10:30 as the cleaning lady was kicking everyone out of bed to do her job- which I doubt she really even does because the bathrooms reaked of piss and everything was a mess. Lockers are in a seperate room from your beds so you cvan't keep an eye on things- basically we payed 20 euro a piece for 3 hours sleep- the night shift guy said he would work something out for us so we could check out late (otherwise we wouldn't have bothered) but he didn't and screwed us over. RANT RANT RANT DON"T COME HERE! I also heard bad things about the other Stadwonen's in AMS- something about leaky toilettes and having to dress on top of them so not to touch the floors.

Awesome place in the city! Withing walking distance from anywhere and or close to the tram that will take you anywhere in the city. Breakfast is great! Very clean too.

Well, the breakfast is Soooooooo nice!
You can eat a LOT!
Lots of types of bread and whatsoever.
The bad thing is that there was no kitchen.
And also, the lady from the reception (the one with dreadlocks) was VERY nice, the thin and young lady, cuz the one with dreadlocks but a lil bit fat one, is VERY RUDE!
