Liked: I found this hostel excellent - clean, safe and attached to a nice bar and coffee shop. Location is excellent if you want to be in the red light district. Not sch as a good place to stay if you want to enjoy amsterdams other attractions (aside from red lights etc)

Liked: Breakfast was a nice inclusion, the rooms was a big dorm but was fine, only one shower though in the room. Place was clean and comfortable, and although it is in the Red Light District its on the edge and you can ignore it if you wish.

Liked: safe. clean enough. good bar/smoking spot in lobby. been to about 15 hostels throughout Europe and the bulldog is definitely above average, but not perfect.

Liked: This is a great place to stay!very relaxed,secure and right in the mix of things,anybody just wanting a good smoke and a place to relax this is the place to be!also has a wii and dvds and all sorts of games to keep the mind ticking over.I think it would have been better for me if i had gone over the weekend,i wanted to go for the nightlife aswell,but we did go on a pubcrawl which was pretty good!overall we had a great stay great smoke in the hostel and would definitly stay here again!

Liked: Rooms are not the greatest but are ok compared to some of the hotels in amsterdam. Location is excellent and as usual the Bulldog chain have though of everything. Would be nice to have a 24hr bar:-)

Liked: The location could have not possibly been better, right at the end of the Red Light District, and in walking distance to tons of attractions. The staff was friendly and kept security tight. There are tons of other people staying there and they've got their own bar where lots of people are usually hanging out, so it's easy to meet people. They provide free WiFi, which is ad-supported. If you don't have a computer (or phone with internet), you have to pay to use their computers. As for the rooms, if you're in one of the dorm-style rooms, your experience will be dependent upon who else is in the room with you. The first night, one guy snored very loudly and another group came in at about 3AM and were extremely inconsiderate and loud. However, the next night was much better. Except that one group, everyone was obviously trying to be quiet when they came in late. There is one shower and bathroom per room, which are kept pretty clean. The beds were probably the most comfortable of any hostel I've been to. Overall, if you don't mind lots of people in the room and want somewhere cheap with a good location, I'd definitely recommend Bulldog.

Liked: Fantastic stay at The Bulldog, I've been to Amsterdam plenty of times but never stayed here before. I wish I had though, the room was nice and clean, staff were friendly and the downstairs lounge/bar was open til nearly 4am!! Won't be long til I'm back!
