Liked: The girls dorm was great, clean, comfy bed, great shower and great breakfast. Large room with plenty of space and lockers. I was very comfortable there.

Disliked: Wi-fi was a bit hit and miss. The common area downstairs wasn't really great for meeting people - most of the people I met were staying in the same room as me.

Liked: The bar staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The roof veranda for smoking was a bonus

Liked: It has good location and different decoration

Disliked: Size, structure and price of hotel, so that no room service. If appointing hostel, but not have facilities such as kitchens and free Internet. It has no rooms for smokers. To get your room key document needs to leave and not accept 500 euro notes, even if the price of their daily exceeds this value. The staff are not cool, the receptionists were rude to me more than once

Liked: Very convenient location in the heart of the red light district. Friendly staff, felt very secure as a single female staying at the hostel. Very comfortable and clean beds/room!

Liked: there was a problem with our booking but the staff sorted us out with no arguments and arranged a modern apartment for 6 of us to all stay together with our own key so our bags were secure and had the facilities to cook our own meals. it was clean. very pleasent stay. location is excellent- 2 mins walk from heart of red light district but that two mins out makes it better and less crowded at night.

Liked: The Bulldog was so far the worst hostel I've stayed in. The staff has no idea what "service" means as was the case for most of Amsterdam. You are made to feel like they are doing you a huge favor, then you are charged for it. The lockers were weak, seems someone could easily force it open and more often than not even though I left the lock clearly in a hanging position, when I returned it was often twisted to the side as if it was being tested. I trusted my fellow travelers in the room, the cleaning and "room inspection" staff got zero trust from me and I got dirty looks from them. Power outlets we sparse and locate high on the wall, I had to run my laptop power cord past my roomates top bunk and have it hang. The bathrooms are the type where the entire bathroom is the shower and you are required to squeegee the floor after showering. Don't even think of going to the restroom in socks unless you want wet socks.One woman at the front desk gave a fellow traveler a hard time about him trying to receive a phone call, when the call came, his calling party was then told even though he had made prior arrangements for the call, that he was not there. Don't even think about ordering food in their bar / restaurant, I was ripped off 14€ for two horribly dry cheese sandwiches (all they offer at lunch time) and 2 beers, and we had to get up to order and get up again to fetch out food... SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT! Free breakfast was poor quality and so promptly cleaned up at 10 that if you go down at 09:50 you better be ready to fight the staff for your food. Again rude staff, no service. They lock the roof terrace at odd times, so if you want to go up for some air, it's hit and miss. The location was about the only good thing. Rather than Bulldog, it should be called Bullsh*t!

Liked: Great location, good facilities, right in the middle of where you want to be really and the price was the cheapest for clean, basic rooms. Would def. stay there again and recommend to someone looking for a cheap, clean place to stay.
