Liked: Staying on a boat! Good shower and toilet facilities. Nice area to have a few beers on deck. Great place.

Liked: It's on a boat. It's warm and cosy and near to the centre of amsterdam.

Disliked: Very noisy; walls are very thin and noise transmits easily through the boat.

Liked: Very nice hostel. The breakfast is great and the staff is friendly. It is easy to find coming from the central station.

Disliked: Nothing. The rooms are small, but I was expecting that by choosing to stay at a boat.

Liked: the breakfast was amazing,the atmosphere was very friendly and the hippie style of the owner fits perfectly on this wonderful city.

Disliked: the showers were not the best but they were alright for a quick shower

Liked: I loved the fact this is a house boat. Made our stay in Amsterdam all the more special. It is close to the central train station, great value for money and had a decent breakfast. The rooms were small but that was not a problem.

Liked: Hands down, the nicest place to stay in Amsterdam. The price is great, the breakfast nice, central location, you have your own small but cozy and clean cabin and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Did I mention that it's a boat? Bonus!

Disliked: The only thing I can think of is that at 11pm the TV is shut down (and my friend and I were just really starting to get into Indiana Jones!) But that's a pretty specific and minor problem.

Liked: what a great place to stay specialy if you're just after a quiet spot in the madnes that is amsterdam. its about 10 minute walk from all the night life and train station and is really quiet at night. i see people moaning about the size of the room, they have clearly never been on a boat before it has loads of character. and nice chilled out atmosphere. The guy working there John was a top guy he shown us everything on the map of top places to go and hes cool just to hang out with and have a beer with. the breakfast is good aswell good selection of meats and cereals and as much apple n OJ as you need....'apple juice is the best hang over cure' the beds were very comfortable aswell always had a good sleep.

Disliked: nothing...worth every penny....or cent....whatever...

Liked: The unique atmosphere of staying on a boat is simply the best. The sundeck is relaxing and offers a great view. Room, common area, and washrooms are always kept clean. Free us of towel and free wifi. Delicious breakfast! Recpetionist is helpful and informative. He gave us a free map and explained where everything we need or wanted to visit are located.

Disliked: Room is small, but it is to be expected because we are on a boat.

Liked: Unlike some of the hostels that are right in the heart of the city, this certainly isn't a party kind one. The boat atmosphere was pretty unique and the breakfast is without doubt the best one I've ever had in any hostel. Staff was nice, when we arrived they gave us a free map and marked all the neccessary stuff on it. And you can chill on the roof of the boat and watch sun set behind the city center cathedrals!

Disliked: Well the rooms are indeed very small and the walls are thin, but luckily everyone on the boat seemed to understand that so it was quiet. When we arrived, there was some minor misunderstanding with our booking on their behalf but it was sorted out in a minute.

Liked: Pretty decent breakfast nice guy who runs it will give you a map when you check in and write all over it and show all the different areas.

Disliked: It was really small with thin walls. This is to be expected of a boat but just be aware that if you are going to hate staying in a small room you're better off spending some extra money. If you're not fussy it shouldn't be an issue.

Liked: It was my first time staying on a boat and it was great. The boat is lovely and the rooms are small but cosy. One of the most memorable trips in my life, I will try to come back again.

Disliked: There isn't really anything to dislike as the property describes its limitations (as a boat) clearly before you book.

Liked: situated in central Amsterdam - close to everything but still quiet and relaxing, great atmosphere on board!

Liked: Friendly staff, Very clean, Good location, Lovely breakfast, Good value for money. Would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Amsterdam.

Liked: I went for a weekend break with my 18yo son to celebrate his exceptional school results. We had looked forward to a trip for over a year so it's success was important to us. The AmicitiA did not disappoint. Staff very friendly and relaxed but always there to lend a hand when needed. The room was very small, as advertised, but also clean and atmospheric. Upstairs the bar area offered lovely view of other boats sharing our canal. It is a 15 minute walk to central station, or other attractions. Staff provided us a free map and pointed out areas of potential interest.

Disliked: The main route we seemed to find from the city centre to the hotel was along a large motorway, tho other more atmospheric routes are possible, walking along the many canals.

Liked: It was a blast to stay on a boat, especially in a city full of houseboats and canals! Wonderful breakfast and cool "rooftop" to chill out on. Pretty good location!

Disliked: Not a big disadvantage, but people should be informed that the bunk rooms are VERY tight and the beds are very small. It was fun for a night, but I am happy I only spent one night there. Secondly, it was a very quiet atmosphere on the boat, not very party-friendly at night.

Liked: Very clean and tidy and unique location. Staff were extremely helpful and provided information to assist us make the best of our short stay. A good breakfast set us up for the day .

Liked: Nice price, nice location and living on a boat it's typical Dutch thing and is worth trying out - we had swans looking into our illuminator for food. That's cool! The owner is really nice and helpful.

Disliked: The room is reaaaally tight - there were two of us travelling and we had to take turns to undress and get into bed. You're on a boat, right?! This didn't bother me much but did bother my friend. FYI: the largest (well, the least tight) room is number 1 - ask for it.

Liked: Perfect location.

Disliked: Rooms are VERY small. It's a boat indeed. No table inside the room and it's not possible to sit on a bed. To dress up one of two neighbours must stay outside the room =)

Liked: The staff was very understanding and accomadating. Roy the manager was a very professional and friendly guy who made our stay so much better. The breakfast on the boat was much more than expected. Came with breads, cereal, meats, cheese and a variety of juices. The seating area is much bigger when compared with the pictures on the site. Definitely a great place to stay next to the Amsterdam Ceentral and the city's attractions.

Disliked: Rooms and shower facilities small. But hey it's a freaking boat! What can you expect?

Liked: Everything about this Hostel is fantastic! Not only was it amazing to stay on a canal boat, but it was also nice to have your own private room, it was also very affordable, and centrally located. The breakfast was incredible, we have never experienced a breakfast like this at any other hostel. Roy (owner) was so helpful, gave great recommendations and made you feel at home. Thank you Roy, for such a memorable holiday! We will be back!

Liked: very friendly atmosphere, perfect location, cheapest beer in central amsterdam + honesty box, friendly and helping staff

Disliked: very high humidity in the room (stayed at beginning of Oct) but probably it's due the fact it's a boat :)
