Liked: Very good experience on the boat and the service was very good. The breakfast was great as well, just like 4 star hotel.

Disliked: There is no attached bath room in the room.

Liked: We liked that it was a boat in a great location. It was right next to the NEMO museum. The staff was very friendly and gave great advice on what to do in Amsterdam.

Liked: Roy the owner is really nice and helpful, we got 10% off our bike hiring as we stayed at the Friesland. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. Breakfast was great, really nice and alot of choice. Rooms don't have any hairdryers but Roy was nice and got one off another boat for me to use.Toilets and showers kept really clean. All drinks 1.50 EURO which is great considering beers are 5 EURO each in all pubs and clubs.

Disliked: Rooms are just too small, there is literally no where to sit after a hectic day, very cramped and can hardly even stretch. All rooms are bunk beds, not ideal for a couple. The location is ok as it is near the train station but everywhere else is a bit of a walk. There is a bit of a strange smell near the showers but that is expected on a boat. Probably not suitable for young children as there are exceptionally steep steps going down to the rooms.

Liked: Frendly owner Roi and cheap and clean accomodation. Central station is very close to hostel, walking distance about 7 minutes.

Disliked: If you want to sleep well, dont take the room no. 13.

Liked: The guy who ran the place was friendly and the breakfast buffet was decent.

Disliked: This place is SO noisy thanks to the ever creaking of floorboards right above and outside of our room. The toilets are pretty foul and the showers less than average. Not a good place to stay if you want sleep!

Liked: Excellent location, friendly staff. They did not say a bad word when we continued having breakfast 15minutes after breakfast time. Received good tips what worth visiting and the breakfast really good.

Disliked: It is a new boat, so there are only bunk beds, there is not any other types of room, like shown in the pictures. The rest room smells badly, luckily it was OK in our room, but quite bad in the corridor.

Liked: The breakfast was good and the dining area is a great place to meet other travelers.

Disliked: The walk to the barge took us close to 15 minutes. The toilets and showers are clean but they did have a strong chemically smell.

Liked: Excellent service, friendly staff, lots of character and something very different from a hotel.

Disliked: Rooms too small to spend any time in except for sleeping, a bit of a walk from town so tended to spend the whole day out rather than coming back for a rest.

Liked: Friesland was very nice boat hostel with very friendlz staff. Our cabin was cosy. Breakfast were delicious. Also location was very good. We were very satisfied.I´m not sure, if HostelBookers was promoted there. Maybe yes, I didn´t see it. We were there only over nights.

Disliked: Petra left no negative feedback.

Liked: Great place, however not too comfotable for a couple because there are only single beds in the cabins. And the cabin is tiny ...However for 20 euro its probebly the cheapest private room you'll find.

Liked: The staff are friendly and you are given a map of the city on arrival which is then explained to show you where all the best bits are. There is a wide selection avalible in the provided breakfast which is a really nice way to start the day.

Disliked: The room's are very small but this was to be expected on a boat of this size, it's fine for a few days but i wouldn't reccomend staying for weeks as even if you don't spend alot of time on the boat it does get crowded.

Liked: It was very close to the central station, walk distance to the center of the city. Atmosphere was very pleasant and sitting on the deck offered wonderful view. I think the price is OK (for Amsterdam) and we went for bargain price and we got what we wanted.

Disliked: I guess it was bad luck but we got the worse cabin shown on the pictures - the one with bunk beds - one atop the other. It was impossible to sit anywhere in the cabin because the space above beds was very short, so it was either laying in the bed or standing - mind you, there was only about 1 square meter of floor! We were stepping on each other or on our things all the time. However sleeping was comfortable (at least for us as we were pretty tired) and we could always sit down in the common room. The window of our cabin was turned the wooden pier - it was dark in the cabin whole day and not much fresh air. Oh, and the cupboard was impossible to lock. But as I said, I guess it was just bad luck that we got this cabin, many others are turned to the free space. The breakfast was served between 8.30 - 10.30 - late for us, so we ate only once on the ship, and there was only microwave oven for us - no cooking on the ship. But the breakfast was plentiful.

Liked: The breakfast is good!

Disliked: Not 24 hours hot shower cause the host told us we could only taking showers during 06:00~23:00 and one of the lady's toliet did not work. The bed and pillow sheet smell bad seem do not change everyday, the toliet smells not so good as well.

Liked: Roi was super helpful with directions, connections and city info. Very nice breakfast spread every morning in the quaint upper deck of the boat that serves as a common area. Rooms were super small but comfy beds to sleep in. Not a lot of room for bulky luggage. Good spot as not in the busy-ness of downtown. so nice quiet sleeps:)

Disliked: rooms were pretty tiny. top bunk and I totally smoked my head more than once on the ceiling:)
