DAFNI MANGALOUSIIt was renewed then so it was pretty comfortable. The breakfast was a little poor and to use the internet you had to stay standing(not thta comfortable) Our room was ok...the matresses new...warm... A little bit expensive though for an 8 people room... |

Customer reviewThe breakfast was lovely, good selection. However, there was limited space to eat and socialise. Plenty of character and relaxed atmosphere. TVs in the rooms were a bonus though other things eg. a mirror would be useful. Our room was in the basement so was a bit dark but generally nice and clean. Our bathroom wasn't ensuite and had limited privacy as it was upstairs right next to the terrace area. I believe all the upstairs rooms are all ensuite. Overall very good value for money if your looking for somewhere affordable to sleep and eat breakfast, would recommend to younger or student groups, particularly as only one key available per room. |

Customer reviewI was a little surprised at HOW close to the Red Light this was (you could look out your window across the canal and see a woman dancing in her window). The area WAS extremely central in location and walking distance to the "Heart" of Amsterdam if your intent is to club, party, and explore the seedy side of Amsterdam. It was about 15 minutes from the Museum district. The first night we were put in a 4 person room when we had a private, but they did us right and there was NO one else in the room with us and had a place for us to store our packs during the next day while we waited on our room. The rooms ARE all movie themed, and very dark. Which is great for the late night crowd. A TV in each room was nice, and the other thing I liked? The bathrooms were IN the rooms, so for a 4 person room you didn't have to walk out the hallway to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. My daughter was in a 8 person room with her friend, the bathrooms got pretty gross with all the people, when she left for the day she came back and found it had not been cleaned. They got new towels once in our 4 day, 3 night stay. I can say one thing about the gentleman that works there, he is honest. I left my digital camera at a computer (they have two laptops you can use that are connected to internet in the lobby) and he made sure it got to me. A mix of ages, and people don't get that urge for social, but I wasn't there to make friends with other travelers. Breakfast was your traditional european spread, very tasty and just fine for a light start. |

Customer reviewlocation was superb, right on the red light district. the lockers were small, could fit luggage in them. this hostel is not a party hostel - you have to be quiet at night time and there is no social area to meet other people staying at the hostel. breakfast was good - cold meats, cheese, toast, cereal, coffee and tea etc. |

Customer reviewIt's location is definately its main strength. However, the quality of the hostel itself was brilliant. The rooms were clean and well equipped, the breakfast was varied and wholesome, you could bring your own alcohol into the rooms and even smoke in them. |
