Liked: Nice breakfast included- the usual ham, bread, salad, but eggs too, which was nice. Free wifi- but only worked in the lobby.

Disliked: Free wifi only worked in lobby. Room was cramped and top bunk was so close to ceiling! And no rail- thought i was gonna fall off! it's s bit further out of town- but if you're on a budget, or staying for more than just 2 nights, would be a good base.

Liked: Nada.

Disliked: El cuarto era demasiado pequeño para la cantidad de camas, ni siquiera había espacio para dejas las maletas en el suelo!! La señal de wi-fi era pésima. La alfombra del pasillo estaba mojada por goteras y todo el pasillo olía a humedad. Los empleados de la recepción no eran amables. Y el carísimo!!!!

Liked: The breakfast was amazing, varied, and plentiful. The beds, even the bunk beds, were super comfortable. The receptionist on duty my first night was extremely friendly and helpful.

Disliked: While the bedrooms were nice, the description of the hostel failed to mention that the halls were filthy, disgusting and smelly. The receptionist on the second day answered my questions with one-word answers and was not interested in being helpful or friendly at all. Also, while the breakfast is amazing, it gets very very crowded in the dining room. And the internet is very slow.

Liked: Good value for money, free wifi, excellent all you can eat breakfast, felt safe.

Disliked: The hotel is about 20 mins from amsterdam centre, costing 2.6 euros each way on the bus, which I didn't budget for !

Liked: Hostel Slotania is a good, cheap and safe. From the Centre of Amsterdam is about 4 km and you can even walk. Around the hostel I know, this is the Muslim quarter.

Disliked: For more demanding I Hosteal recommended. For undemanding is awesome

Liked: Well since its an old hotel converted into a hostel the rooms and bathrooms are quite good for a hostel.

Disliked: The location, the bar (only sells 2 kinds of bottles for 3euro), the staff can be quite unwilling at times and the breakfast isnt really worth getting up for.

Liked: Shower and toilet in each dorm room. Free breakfast was awesome! Loads of food (take a plastic bag and stock up for lunch)

Disliked: A bit far from the centre but still well connected by bus and tram

Liked: The property provides free internet which i've found invaluable whilst on my travels. The staff are also friendly and a free breakfast is provided.

Disliked: My only criticism would be the location. I was travelling with a fit group of lads and even we felt dam central was not in walking distance. Costs increase through having to travel on the tram which costs around 5/6 euros a day.

Liked: Like a hotel, but cheaper.

Disliked: It is really far away from the centre, 20 minutes on the bus/tram.

Liked: thick mattresses, numerous common spaces, big buffet breakfast

Disliked: staff all pretty unfriendly, all rooms were boiling hot (we were fortunate in having a fan to cool us down a little)

Liked: It was on the tram line and the stop was very close to the hostel

Disliked: Was old and rundown, bathroom was dirty and mouldy, shower didnt drain properly, beds old and squeaky and all the staff we encountered were rude and unhelpful

Liked: Hotel Slotania, despite being a slight false advertisement on location, proved to provide a very relaxing stay. I liked that it was quiet, and that I could escape from the bustle of the city. It was also close to a nice park. Once I had rented a bike the hotel became much more enjoyable, because reaching the city was easier and I could leave the city for the quiet of the hotel. A major bonus of Hotel Slotania is the buffet breakfast, which is amazing!

Disliked: I disliked that there was some false advertising. But once I had settled that disappointment I found the hostel to be very nice. The staff was also rather unhelpful, often giving very curt responses to my queries. Which didn't make me feel very welcome.

Liked: very clean, breakfast was nice, free wifi, very safe and secure because it's also a hotel.

Disliked: very squeaky bed kept waking me up in the night :(

Liked: The ONLY thing I liked about this hostel was the fact they overbooked us our first night stay, so they placed us at the Best Western Inn just down the street. The fact the only thing I liked was staying in a different hotel than this hostel is saying a lot about this crappy place.

Disliked: The place was ok. The staff at the reception desk were horrible! They had no customer service whatsoever. I only had to wait 30 minutes for my room to become available, while one of the guys in my room had to wait over 4 hours at the reception desk for his bed. Had I known the reception staff was this unfriendly, I would have booked another hostel.

Liked: overall good value for money. Had a nice sleep there, clean beds and even a good television. The breakfast was OK.

Disliked: One of the clerks (front desk) was very harsh and did't do his job well.

Liked: Nice Hostel. Clean sheets, clean bathroom, hot water, excelent breakfast. It is looks like more a Hotel than a hostel!

Disliked: Nothing to complain about. The Location is not that good, even though you are near the bus/tram stop, it takes 20-25 minutes to get to the city center. The ticket price is 2,6 euros, but if you stay more then 2 days you can buy a transport card
