good stuff - location
bad stuff - staff hardly speak any english or DUTCH, hard to meet people since the building is very tall and the common space is not very nice.

This was a nice little hostel. A bit cramped and god help you if you are on the top floor with lots of luggage because those stairs can be a killer. But, the shower and the bathroom were cleaned everyday, which was great. And a pleasant surprise was that the toilet paper was soft and thick.

there was no curfew so you weren't restricted on what you could do. the reception was staffed 24hrs. the rooms were very clean and you got fresh towels every day.

I like that in the middle of the night when my neighbors were loud and partying, the guy working the desk got them to shut up very efficiently. Thank you! You can hear everything from the other rooms here, so people realy need to be respectful of their neighbors. Staff was the best thing about this place.

The night person was really nice. The beds were comfortable, but BEWARE of the 7-person room! Not a real bed.... We complained though, and got moved after midnight into our own 7-person room, for the two of us. Breakfast consisted of bread, jelly, meat and cheese. Overall a nice place to stay, but bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

The beds were extremely comfortable. The room was spacious. The bathroom was different but what can you expect. Overall, great stay at Sphinx.
