Liked: Friendly staff, internet, location not bad.

Disliked: It was not very nice place. I couldn't take a shower cause was really disgusting and dirty. I couldn't change my clothes in the toilet of my floor so I had to go downstairs. It was TOO expensive.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Also, brand new bathroom and very clean. We had hot water at any time of the day. Highly reccomend.

Liked: This hostel is very good located. all the bars and clubs are around the hostel. Beds are nice and clean. The staff is great. Sam from the reception is great. He gave me all the advise on what to do. thanks ;)

Liked: Great location, easy to walk everywhere.

Disliked: Bedroom only contained one outlet for 8 people. Wall paper was peeling off the wall. Directly above restaurants and bars so nights were quite noisy.

Liked: The location and some staff members are very friendly.

Disliked: Below basics and charged me nearly 80 euros for each day that I stayed in the weekend. I was too late to do anything as I already did a booking on the internet plus it was easter holidays. One staff member was rude. The crowd is pretty much into smoking the pot. The toilet and the showers were extremely small and the lights were not working properly. Shower did not have enough strength.

Liked: Pleasant hostel- everything we could have wanted for the cheap price! Friendly staff and lively atmosphere. Would recommend if you want a busy night in amsterdam.

Liked: The graffiti on the walls

Disliked: It smells bad. You have to climb lots of narrow stairs to get to your room. The beds smell really bad. The beds are uncomfortable. The duvet and pillows have definately been lived in! The shower is a cupboard by the door to your room and the light comes on and off whilst your stuck in there. It's not very clean. The area is very noisy as it is on a street with lots of bars and restaurants. The "free" breakfast is 2 slices of bread toasted on one side, with a selction of jam or chocolate spread. The tea and coffee is foul.

Liked: Good price, really fantastic location near the Leidseplein, helpful staff, and I was very relieved to find that no smoking was allowed inside.

Disliked: If you're on the top floor, there are a lot of stairs!

Liked: The staff were incredibly helpful and would go out of their way for us! It was standard accomodation but very clean. It had good internet with 2 computers for free use, snacks drinks and breakfast available! It was an awesome 4 days!

Liked: In Amsterdam, there's not too much option for hostels, and almost all of them are going to be small, super-crowded, and rather expensive, it seems, especially during the weekends. That being said, it was entirely adequate, but not too much more than that. Breakfast, yes; bed with free sheets, yes; shower, yes; free internet, yes; decent security and no curfew, yes. But two pieces of toast with coffee or tee, ten beds jammed together in a really tiny room, showers just being a room and a hose, two computers with slow internet that you can only use after 10AM, and personnel with just the minimum amount of friendliness. But it's Amsterdam, and it seems that's what you get, and as long as you have a great location--and this hostel definitely does, busy enough but not too much--you're going to be busy enjoying the city rather than hanging in the hostel anyway.

Disliked: After coming from a really cheap hostel in Berlin with lots of room and a really friendly, laid-back, accessible overall organisation, my expectations were what threw me when arriving here to Amterstam Hostel Centre. It had everything their description said it had, but it wasn't always the best quality nor quantity that you would expect, as I mentioned above.

Liked: Excellent stay in central location. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, hostel was clean and secure. Depending on your plans, you may or may not like the fact that there is no curfew; some party-goers are still coming back at 5am and can wake you up if you are a light sleeper. Overall would definitely recommend this hostel.

Liked: Front staff were very helpful with any questions asked. Rooms were small, but good enough to sleep in. Internet and TV in the common room were great.

Disliked: Stairs were small to walk up. The shower in my room was awkward with no curtains and the water getting all over the bathroom floor.

Liked: My experience was amazing. Im a girl and I travelled by myself – all the guys working there were VERY nice and helpful. The rooms are nice, my bed was super comfortable, the shower always had hot water, its super clean and you get a free cit maps.

Liked: Nice location.

Disliked: extremely dirty, the blanket smelled like feet, and they were supposedly clean. The bathroom wasn't too clean either. Too expensive for what you get.
