Liked: The location is great, very near the central station and is right near the centre of the red light district. So a lot of things you can do there, and it's quite wild :)It's also very cheap compared to other hostels, and it's worth it. Highly recommended for any one who likes to experience a little bit adventurous stay. But it might not be very suitable for someone who prefers quiet and private space, since the arrangement of the beds won't allow you to have much personal space. The bathroom is not very clean, and it's mixes. So expect to see some half-naked guys when you're brushing your teeth :D (not a prob for me though). After all, for the money, it's still a good deal.

Liked: This was my first visit to Amsterdam and I was travelling alone . I was on a budget , and wanted to meet other travellers as well as the local Dutch people , therefore booked a hostel . This hostel is so central it was ideal for walking to most places of interest . The staff were great , the beds clean , and the Irish bar below served great food from 9 am up until 11 pm . The church bells were on one from quite early each morning and this isnt the place to stay for peace and quite , but saying that , by the end of my weeks' stay , I was pretty much used to it . An ideal stag/hen hostel location as well as a great place for lone travellers . The lounge was the bar downstairs . The security was good . The staff were A+

Liked: The best thing about this hostel is its location. The fact that there is no linving room does not help to meet other people.I've seen better, yet I'm not disapointed

Liked: Very clean, but very small. It's a challenge to take a shower in such a small bathroom! The hostel is not adapted at all - there's no lights close to the beds, no sockets, no stairs to climb to your bed! There is also no common areas. The good points - excelent location (close to the Oude Kirk), friendly staff, great price, and a very decent bar downstairs that has discounts.

Liked: Great staff, great location. I traveled alone and I met a lot of really cool people at the White Tulip. Also the pub next door gives a 25% discount on food which was very good and the pub was a great place to start/end the night. I would definitely recommend this hostel to other travelers.

Liked: It was very central, right in the Red Light District. Bring your earplugs though unless you want to hear the Old Church bell ring every 15 min early morning.

Liked: White tulip hostel is as avergare hostel as it can be. I never felt unsafe there, I never felt it was the best hostel ever though. Staff were very nice!

Liked: First of all, the location was excellent. It took me aprox 6-7 minutes to reach there from Amsterdam Central Station (yes with 2 backpack, and a 20kg suitcase to drag along). It was in the heart of Red Light area with almost all the attractions within walking distance. Now, lets come to the Hostel itself. It was a small property with a very small enterance (not to forget, with "the" typical Amsterdam stairs). People at the reception were very friendly. Dorms were small as compared to other hostels with bunk beds literally "thrown away" inside. The size of the bed was small and there wasn't enough space to sit in, just in case if you don't yet want to sleep because of the close proximity of the upper deck. Sheets provided were neat and clean, but blankets were dirty and they stank (So don't solely rely on them). Sleeping could be a problem for people who need quiet environment because of the constant incoming and outgoing of people and their non-stop chat and laughter. The dorm wasn't made a "hot box" by pot-heads as mentioned in other reviews, but that could be because I had been lucky. There were lockers of average size and could be secured using a "key lock" (Provided against a deposit of 5 Euros). People I encountered in the dorm were friendly but don't expect a good company. Toilets and washrooms were clean, but very small. There were Wi-fi signals in every dorms and it was free. Privacy could be a problem if you look for some intimate moments. The Irish pub downstairs was a good hang out place with discounted drinks and food. Overall it was worth the money I spent.
