Liked: Great location. The bar had a lot of character and a great atmosphere. Breakfast was nice (hard boiled eggs, fruit, nutella, peanut butter, toast)

Disliked: Hygiene wasn't great. The toilets smelled awful and the bread left out at breakfast was really mouldy on Sunday morning!!

Liked: The staff and people were amazingly nice. Very chill and happy enviornment as well as fun. If the weather was bad outside, you could have just as fun in the hostel talking to people. There were artists and the paintings were siQ. My favorite part were when the workers jammed in the smoking room, made it for me. I highly recommend this hostel for anyone down to have a good time and get lit! :)

Disliked: The bathroom sink was clogged.

Disliked: The staff were not very friendly and as a lone traveller the bar didn't lend itself to meeting people. The crazy climb up the stairs to the 3rd floor!!!

Liked: We shared a double bunk at Flying Pig, which was pretty nice as we didnt need to have a private room to share a bed. The facilities were clean and despite being in a 14 person dorm, it wasnt too cramped. The location is right next to vodelpark which is a nice bit of town and there is a great area with lots of restaurants about 5 mins away.

Disliked: Terrible roomates... but other than that it was good! very cheap so you cant expect the best but it was sufficient :)

Liked: Staff are great; the atmosphere is second to none; they have a whole range of services and facilities you just don't find elsewhere (free wifi, laptops to rent, a smoking room, an all-night bar). Cannot be faulted.

Liked: Wasn't too far to walk anywhere, it was clean and very safe with personal lockers which I liked..Tge bar was good and a great place to meet people for a solo traveler like myself

Liked: Nice location uptown, close to the Van Gogh museum and a few good restaurants. Smoking room on premises. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean.

Disliked: Staff was very hit or miss. My first day there, the receptionist was super sweet and helpful. The second day, the girl I encountered was extremely rude and dismissive. Because I had to check out that morning, I needed to place my bag in the locker. However, the machine read that all the lockers were full, so I asked the receptionist where else I could leave it. First she told me to stand there and wait a bit. After 10 minutes of her ignoring me, I asked again and she told me to go find the manager. I went back upstairs and asked another staff member, who said I could leave the bag with reception since it was pretty small. So I went back downstairs and waited another 10 minutes while the receptionist completely ignored me. When I finally got her attention and told her, she was livid and demanded to know who told me that. She then got on the phone with her manager and after a quick call told me to follow her upstairs. Apparently there were a ton of empty lockers, but no one had reset the machine yet. And then I waited another 10 minutes while the manager taught her how to reset the machines (after which she went and reset every single empty locker before letting me put my bag there). I was also put off by the girl who came to change the sheets in the morning of check-out. Check-out time was for 10 AM and I was just a few minutes behind when some girl burst into the room and started taking off the sheets, while all my things were still on there. She threw my stuff everywhere as she hastily tried to change the sheets, without saying a single word to me or acknowledging my presence. Perhaps if they hadn't blared loud rock music all night, I might have been able to wake up earlier in the morning. It is clear that the Flying Pig has become yet another commercialized hostel with the sole purpose of fitting as many beds and naive backpackers into its dorm rooms as possible.

Liked: I felt really safe there. Everything was always clean. The staff are so helpful and it was easy to meet people. I would definitely stay there again and reccommend it to other people. The location was not right in the middle of everything but it was only a short walk.

Disliked: nothing.

Liked: The staff were excellent, really helpfull. The map they give you when you check in is brilliant. Loved the smoking room and bar.

Disliked: The noise from prople using the stairs during the night. This was a minor issue and should be expected in a hostel.

Liked: Good location next to the park and near a ton of tourist sites without being in the middle of the Red Light District.

Disliked: The endless stairs and wifi limited to the bar/smoking area.

Liked: the flying pig was amazing, i have been to dam 4 times now, 2 times i stayed in a hotel another i stayed in an appartment and the last time was in the flying pig, and i'm happy to say the flying pig wins hands down if your a smoker like me, the staff are all really nice and usually in the middle of the fun which always makes ya feel more at ease, the toilet/shower facilitys and the breakfast were better than expected so all in all a great trip, idealy i'd love to work/live at the pig cause its the combo of that place and bein in dam made me not wanna leave but sadly life calls so i'l just say i'l defo be goin back there next year :D

Disliked: i read the revews on the place b4 i booked and people said the showers were dirty and the stairs were narrow and hard to climb, i have no idew what those people were talking about, the showers were fine, and unless your obese you shouldnt have any probs with the stairs, i say if ya gonna complain about silly things like that then save it for when you've spent double what the pig charges on a hotel thats half as good

Liked: Amazing atmosphere, cool decorations, friendly people, loved the "smoking" section, I just honestly loved the feeling of familiarity and comfort that I got from the Flying Pig.

Disliked: There's only pizza on the menu? jajajaja no, I honestly liked everything.

Liked: The location is excellent!! (Leidseplein and part of the museums are 5 minutes walk), with huge park just outside the frontdoor, basic nice breakfast, well-accessorized kitchen, nice rooms with quite big lockers, smoking room, helpfull staff...and one big advantage - check-in from 10:30!!! recommended from the bottom of my heart!!!

Disliked: There is no elevator and the stairs are fucking narrow, so it is quite challenge (but possible) to reach the high floors with suitcase
