Liked: There was a really great social enviornent and very inexpensive (32 queen size beds)

Disliked: It seemed like the staff was too busy handling all the guests entering and leaving, that there wasn't a lot of time to ask for advice about the city.

Liked: Flying Pig is great, I had a blast there. It is more of a party atmosphere on some nights but that was perfectly fine with me! The staff was always friendly and helpful, location was great and easy to find. I definitely recommend this place to travelers who are looking to meet fun people and have a good time. They also cleaned the entire place from top to bottom every morning, and they had a great breakfast. I love the Flying PIg!

Liked: Close to train station

Disliked: The staff was not particularly friendly. They had smiles on their faces, but the feeling was like they were rushing you out of the front desk area. The reception area made a mistake on my bed #. When I went down to tell them there was a problem, they didn't really believe me...as if I can't read where it is clearly marked "BED #".

Liked: i loved everything. the kitchen, the bar, the nice staff, the other visitors.. had an amazing time. thank you guys :)

Disliked: its not the best comfort, but its clean, central and cool people there.

Liked: I was traveling through Europe with a friend mainly with the objective of visiting new places, meeting people and having fun without expending too much money. When visiting Amsterdam we stayed in this hostel mainly because we were told that it was a good one, but we found out that it depends on what you are looking. The good things about the place where: 1. Location, excellent, close to the train station, in the middle of the center (Amsterdam is small), could walk to any place 2. Staff: really nice and willing to help

Disliked: The reason why I said that is good or not depending on what you are looking for is because we found that most of the people in this hostel are there for "smoking", or going to coffee shops, so don't expect to much interaction if you are in other mood, but if your plan is the same, go there, for that it's the right place.

Liked: amazing location, nice staff, decent enough breakfast, each bed had it's own outlet. overall excellent.

Disliked: my roommates... although that is nothing they can control. there was a balcony in the room so they went out there to smoke with the door open... blowing it all right back in. also layout a biut confusing the first time but not too bad once you figured it out.

Liked: The room is clean and tidy, including the shower. I stayed in a room for 4 people with ensuite shower, so I have no idea about the communal shower.

Disliked: The stairs too narrow and the lift should be improved, although it was not a big deal.

Liked: The Flying Pig was great. The staff is very nice and the hostel itself is a good and chill time. If you're an easy going person you will love it. Definitely coming back.

Liked: Very friendly atmosphere. Most of the people hanging out in the bar were part time employees that stayed on the property. They were very welcoming.

Disliked: Not the best shower facilities.

Liked: Everything! Absolutely the greatest hostel i've ever visited, the staff was so wonderful. I just loved hanging out at the hostel's bar and met so many awesome people there. The hostel was also right in the centre, so everything was in a walking distance. I recommend this place to all travellers who want to have a great hostel experience in Amsterdam!

Liked: Easy to meet people at the bar and the staff are friendly and easy going. Location is excellent. It is within walking distance of all the sites and easy to get to and from Amsterdam Central station on foot. Good free breakfast and Wi Fi included.

Disliked: As advertised this is a party hostel so think going looking for a quiet night. Most of the rooms have en suites, except for our room, which was annoying the it meant there was only one toilet on our floor and the shower wasn't that clean but hey it could be worse, it is a hostel after all with a lot of people.

Liked: Fantastic breakfast with fresh oranges, eggs, raisin bread and coffee free to take, an awesome late night bar, chill smoking room and great staff. Ready made beds and towels to borrow!

Disliked: Beware of some of the clientele: one of my dear roommates had puked when I entered the room at 2 am and another had taken my towel before I woke up. Ah, well: part of the charm of one of europe's most (in)famous hostels.

Liked: How it fits in perfectly with the city atmosphere! The wall paintings for sure! Hard boiled eggs came with the breakfast and the espresso was surprisingly good.

Disliked: Due to the party nature, 2 out of 4 nights we had a hard time sleeping because of people having full on loud conversations at like 3am. But it's tough...that's just gonna happen I guess because it's in the middle of all the action.

Liked: Very good location, lockers in the room.

Disliked: My room is on the ground floor, where the bar is just infront and the smoking lounge behind the wall. The smell of pots and cigarettes is all over the room, which is really unfair for people who don't smoke. And it's so noisy in the bar don't ever think of getting to sleep until late at night when they slightly turn down the music. And the bathrooms are located on the basement! Which means you have to walk very very far to shower and they never turn on the heater in the bathrooms it is freezing cold once you step out from the shower cubicles. The bathrooms are also quite filthy.
