Liked: Moroccan staff was very friendly, very nice. The rooftop terrace was gorgeous and a very cozy spot to eat breakfast or curl up in the afternoon sun. In theory, a surf hostel is a really, really neat idea.

Disliked: The rooster who lived right outside the window and began crowing at 11pm and didn´t stop till 9 in the morning started us out on a bad foot.Showers are always cold, which is not very pleasant after a long day in the waves. Breakfast isn´t very good. The bread is dry and there isn´t really anything nutritious before surfing the entire day. The surf equiptment was not in very good condition at all. Wet suits were filled with holes, which made wearing one in the first place a little bit ubiquitous. Surf instructors aren´t terribly nice. I understand that perhaps surfers have their own sense of humor, but it doesn´t translate well to guests when the guides are incessently ragging on one another.Surf lessons, while fine perhaps for beginners, don´t cater at all to more advanced surfers. Anyone who can stand up on their board would be advised to forgo their lesson. What someone like me, and others of a similar skill level could have used was more individualized attention or at least have an instructor out in the water with us, teaching us more subtle things about surfing, like how to read the waves, etiquette, etc. The cleaning staff is super, super nice, but the nature of the hostel is just to be sandy. This is fine in upstairs areas, but downstairs is in a bit of a state of decay. Also, apart from the terrace, there is no common area to meet people or socialize. And though beautiful, the terrace is long and narrow, and makes for a lot of knocked knees if you want to get from one side to the other, and is in no way condusive to meeting other people, etc.
