The Riad Dar Zelda is an early 19th-century wealthy merchants' house. The decor is resolutely pure, the architecture and design minimalist and zen. The house is modern in its architecture, but uses the ancient artisanal woods, forged iron and silks in its decor. The riad has won the Certificate of Excellence 13 years in a row by Tripadvisor. Small pool(heated); incredible terraces overlooking the Medina (historic city centre) and the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. We are fortunate to have an excellent cook at the riad. Whether lunching or dining on the terrace, or around the fireplace in the dining room, Btissam's cuisine will win you over

Every junior suite (35 square metres) has a private sitting room, large bedroom with king-size bed, large full bath. The grand suite La Douiria (70 square metres) has 2 large double bedrooms, a stunning salon with 19th-century frescoes and cupolas, a monumental bathroom/dressing room. All the linens at the riad are 700-thread count, Egyptian cotton.

Location Information

Dar Zelda is located in the heart of the Medina (historic city centre) just next to the Medersa Ben Youssef (a must to visit; in all the guides) and the Museum of Marrakech. The neighborhood is the oldest of the Medina, the quarter of the great foundouks or caravanserails, large inns, where on every corner you can catch a glimpse of their grand courtyards(stables for the horses and carriages) and columned porticoes. These foundouks were the inns where the caravans would stop while travelling the Silk Roads. The riad is 12 minutes by foot to the famous Place Djemma El Fna, and 2 minutes to the souks (bazaar).
