An excellent Riad with a very helpful, knowledgable, owner. The roof terrace was a great place to chill out with a bottle of wine after a hectic day. Located in a quiet area of the Kasbah, 10 min walk from Djemaa el-fna square.

hans and his wife were the most welcoming host ever. he stayed up late to welcome us to the riad; his wife was truly helpful in her suggestions of where to go and what to see; she also stayed up waiting for us to get back from a day trip when we left our luggage, so we could get in without any hassle.

This riad is beautiful, the decor and furnishings are lovely and I can highly recommend the breakfast which is plentiful. Sabah is definitely value for money and the 20 minute walk to Djemaa el Fna is almost as fascinating as the square and souks. I rated 'Friendliness and helpfulness of staff' and 'Facilites and services on offer' down because even though the staff are very friendly they are rarely there. If you are not wanting any local advice, directions or, information on tours or what's on offer in Marrakech then this is fine but, we would have appreciated it.

It was just as advertised. It was a bit daunting the first time I made the 10 minute walk to the Medina but as someone else said in the reviews it gives you a real feel for a Morrocan neighborhood. I would have NEVER found it without the aid of a taxi. Coming from the States i would never walk down twisting streets and certainly not with men hanging out everywhere, but after a time or two it didn't bother. You have to get used to the staring. The rooms were gorgeous, the food nice, the terrace was amazing and beautiful. People did gather in the center common area. It feels a little like being a guest in a friends house. The showers were lovely, the air-conditioning cold, and plenty of water bottles in the fridge. The pictures don't do the place justice though, the rooms really have a spa like resort feel.

The best hostel during our nine-days-trip in Morocco. Clean, safe and beautiful rooms. They also have a nice terrasse where you can relax after a busy day in Marrakech. I am sure you will also like it!

the best not-expensive hotel i've ever been to! the owner is German who has lived in Morocco for 6 years and he is a really interesting person to talk to! the riad itself was re-newed last year,it is located in a very safe region of Marrakech in a close proximity to the Royal Palace, where the King lives, all rooms are very cozy, finished in an oriental style and have air-conditioning.

The best place we stayed during our 3 week trip! Homemade breakfast whenever you got up, gorgeous rooftop terrace, and a totally chill German/Moroccan couple who were the owners/hosts made this a memorable spot ...

The place was clean, safe and friendly. It was also quiet and for us a bonus that it wasn't in the main medina. Breakfast was lovely too and could be served on the roof terrace if you wanted. Between the owners they spoke English, French and German, which was great.

The Riad is beautifully decorated in the moroccan style, and rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful and very accomodating. The Riad is a little way from the main square, about a 10 minute walk, but it is a pleasant walk through small streets and past the Saadian tombs. The shops here are generally cheaper than the souk.

The owners of the Riad were both very welcoming and gracious hosts. The design and layout of the Riad is very tastefully designed, and is an oasis of tranquility from the hustle and bustle of the Old Medina. Very highly recommended place to stay for couples travelling to Marrakech.

It was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Full of character, intimate and yet with scope for meeting other residents - the internal courtyard was a wonderful place to gather in the evenings around the fire. The warmth of the owners was reflected in the gorgeous colours of the decor. An altogether magical experience. We will be back.

Sabah and Hans were great hosts; the rooms were all beautifully decorated, comfortable and very clean; the riad was well looked after; breakfast was excellent and generous; roof terrace fantastic with great views over the Kasbah and towards the Atlas Mountains. Very quiet, peaceful and chilled after the madness that is Marrakech!
