Dar Zarraba is, intentionally, very close to lively Marrakesh, yet sufficiently far away to stop off just for an evening, a day, or a week…

Dar Zarraba is situated in the middle of an olive grove covering a hectare, not far from the road to Ourika, a town well known to the "Marrakchis". This road also leads to the Atlas mountains which are a short distance away and, for most of the year, visible in all their splendor with their covering of snow.

The small village ("Douar") has retained its authenticity and the major part of its activity is related to work in the fields.

We have nine rooms to offer, each with it's own patio where you can enjoy breakfast (unless you prefer the lounge). The rooms have been fitted out with much attention to detail:
• Ceilings decorated with reed (Tatouis) by "Maalem" (leading craftsmen) from the South of Morocco
• Tadelakt and Dess from Marrakesh
• Fabrics (sabra) woven by local craftsmen

Some rooms have a view over the pool, others are at the bottom of the garden. The choice is yours, subject to availability.

There is a vast lounge fitted out in traditional-style pise.
You can relax or take breakfast here or, on chilly winter evenings, just sit around the fire.
A book collection is at your disposal.
Finally, it is here that we organize evening events in order to show you the local folklore and "Gnaoua" music.

The large mirror pool, surrounded by olive trees is the ideal place to rest, read or take refreshment on your return from excursions. It's enormous steps were built with security in mind for the layout of the children's play area.

Car hire: this remains the most flexible way of exploring Marrakesh and its surroundings and for organizing excursions.

We work with a few reliable car rental firms offering reasonable prices (35 to 45 € per day, according to season).

Contact us if you wish to have your rented car or four-wheel drive available at the airport on your arrival.
