Very warm welcome. Extremely helpful and friendly hosts. Nice authentic Morrocan building and atmosphere. Good welcome at airport and excellent tour of city-centre including Souk. Good introduction to local culture and various do's and don'ts for us 2 complete new-comers. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend Dar Jani to future visitors and we hope to return one day Inch Allah !

Janice was very welcoming and full of advice. We apprectiated the kitchen as it gave us so many options. The riad is so charming and peaceful. We didn't want to leave.

Jani is really cool, and helpful, the place is awsome a bit difficult to find at night time, but once your there everything is cool, very centric, and calm relaxed neighborhood.

Although Janice had just got out of hospital on the day I arrived she was still very helpful and friendly. One of the local guys working for her was also very helpful and great company, (he found me quite a few times wandering lost around the streets and helped me find my way back!) and accompanied me to various places as I was travelling alone which I really appreciated. The courtyard was very beautiful, the whole riad is very atmospheric and very clean with very friendly staff - would definately recommend staying here. It's also very central, just 2 minutes from the Saadian Tombs and only a 10 minute walk from Djemaa - El - Fna square. Would definately return to Riad dar Jani!

Very Morrocan! (surprise, surprise) we wanted somewhere traditional. It was very well kept and furnished with a power shower better than the one at home! It became an "oasis" to come back to, like home from home (especially after we'd been lost). We also asked advice about excursions and this resulted in us having some brilliant days out.

It is a very homelike experience in a foreign country. Good location with few tourists when the sightseeing site has closed.

Janice the owner was great, very welcoming. The location was ideal for visiting the city, and I felt very safe at night going out to eat etc. The next time I'm in Marrakesh, I will definitely try and stay there again.

Very small, so it felt as though we were staying in a home and not a hotel. Good communal space and kitchen made it a great place to relax at the end of the day.

Minutes walk away from city centre, but far enough out for taxi's to be available to you if you wanted to catch one out to the other tourist attractions (taxi’s can’t go into the centre of the city). I love the riad idea, it was like having my own holiday home in Marrakech centre. Not for those who prefer to be waited on hand and foot as in a hotel, but great for those with an independent streak. Informal and pleasantly relaxed, a great little cooling bolt hole to hide from the midday sun. Janice, the owner, is a saint and happily answered all my questions, despite probably having heard them all countless times before! If I go back to Marrakech I’ll be staying at Dar Jani again, and recommending it to any of my friends who are independent enough or cool enough not to want to go within a mile of a hotel. I can’t say enough good things.

A feeling of authenticity; the style and decor feels very much as though you are staying in an unspoiled Morrocan home. This is not five star accommodation but instead a sociable, friendly, clean hostel-style home from home. Janice is great fun and full of interesting stories and the freedom to do as you please is terrific.

Janice is a wonderful host who makes you feel more than welcome in a foreign land. The location of the hostel, although close to Djema El Fna allows you to see a little more of real Moroccan life. Riad Dar Jani itself is a cool retreat from the heat, hustle and bustle of Marrakech. I met some great people here and would thoroughly recommend this Riad. I myself went straight back there when my return flights home were cancelled!

It is an authentic Morrocan house and is a great way to experience life in the Medina. Janice who runs things is fantastic and so trustworthy. She KNOWS this city well and is a great comfort to have around. A little difficult to find, so if not good with directions one may have a problem, thats about it...I plan on returning.
