the owners are lovley they were waiting at the airport to meet me even though my flight was early. They both speak really great english and are very honest and friendly. they live upstairs so are on hand to help you and gave me lots of tips and advice as a lone female. They Riad is very traditional and the rooms are off a central court yard with a shared bathroom. There is also a little kitchen with a gas camp stove and a kettle so you can have a cup of tea when you arrive. I would have liked to have stayed here longer but only booked for one night then moved onto to another place. It is about 10 mins walk for the main square and on first arrival it seems like a maze of walk ways and alleys its in a good location and fairly easy to find. Although the street is to small for a taxi to get right to the front door (like most in marrakech). I would reccomend taking ear plugs as the calling from the mosques at all hours will keep you up. I found this everywhere i stayed. The riad is very safe a main door with double lock and a lock on the room door. Great value for money

We had a splendid stay in the riad, good location with loads cheap+delicious+local+untapped by tourist restaurants plus the souvenir shops near to our riad sell stuffs with nontourist price way cheaper than djama el fna. Allen, Veronique&Janice were great hosts and give us many tips&hints to survive and enjoy marrakech!

If you want to stay in a typical "Moroccan house", this place will fit perfectly. Do not expect a TV, a fantastic bed or internet... only a simple room with the most basic things in it. By the way, the staff is extremely nice.

Genuine traditional style house. Extremely nice people Veronique and Alain. Made us very welcome but did not impose on us. Local knowledge very helpful. Was rather cold while we were there (February) - no heating unfortunately.

very nice and homey atmosphere; Alain and Veronique are great hosts, they provided us with many insider-tips on where to eat, shop etc. you wouldnt find in any guidebook; riad is located in an area which is very authentic, nice little shops and great streetfood

Knowledgeable and friendly owner. The hostel feels more like a homestay rather than hotel/hostel. Great place to meet people and learn about Morocco. Very basic facilities however, e.g. no air conditioning, shower was luke warm and only a thin stream of water.

The beauty of Riad Dar Jani lies in both the property and Janice, the owner. The property is obviously well kept and maintained, with the authentic Moroccan feel. The rooms are large, comfortable, and though without air-conditioning are cooling enough for a good night's rest. Janice adds a lot of charm to the place. Right from day one she made us feel welcome, inviting us to her cool (literally) living room where we chatted after a day of sight-seeing. She was also kind and generous enough to offer us separate rooms even though we only booked for a single room, at the same cost. I will not forget the interesting discussions we had each night when she shared about Morocco, the people, even Arabic. A truly impressive woman, and a faultless stay. Oh, and before I forget, this place is really value-for-money.

Very warm welcome. Extremely helpful and friendly hosts. Nice authentic Morrocan building and atmosphere. Good welcome at airport and excellent tour of city-centre including Souk. Good introduction to local culture and various do's and don'ts for us 2 complete new-comers. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend Dar Jani to future visitors and we hope to return one day Inch Allah !
