This is a great place to stay! The owner is a very friendly bloke, always ready to have a chat and give you good advice. The guesthouse is well-located, within walking distance of everything in the Medina, but also close to one of the gates, so you can get in and out very easily, and even get a cab to the door. It's beautiful inside, clean and with decent beds. They've got wifi hubs on several floors, so there's good coverage through the whole building. There are also some very nice Moroccan carpets on display throughout, which reflect the owner's second business, a high-quality old and antique carpet shop in the Medina. He won't tell you about this (we stumbled upon his store by chance), as he likes to keep the two businesses separate, but the shop is on the main shopping street leading from the blue gate, and as one of the better carpet store we saw, is worth a visit even just to have a look. The best thing about this guesthouse is, that in a city/country where it is very easy to be taken for a ride or ripped off almost anywhere, in the Dar Fes you can relax and know that you are in good, trustworthy hands.
few hotels have made me feel as much at home at this one, from the welcoming mint tea and biscuits to the careful recommendations for tour guides and places to dine. The palatial architecture of the hotel is also very impressive. Mohammed deserves every credit for his hard work and attention to detail.

Lovely, little raid in an excellent location in Fes. The staff is extremly helpful and friendly and Steve - the owner - is the ultimate host. He gave us the map, showed us around, recommended some places to eat and much more. The breakfasts are excellent. We highly recommend and if we ever return to Fes we would definitely stay here again.
The owner, Steve, was a very nice guy that everyone had a great time with him. Listen to every advice from him, as his knowledge of Fes is extensive and he was one of a few people I met in touristy Morocco that I felt I could totally trust.

We had an overbooking. The manager aranged for us a more expensive hotel for the same ammount and he gave us free ride from the airport to the city. The next day when we visit Dar Bensouda we met the manager. He gave us something to drink and invite it us for dinner. He also aranged a free taxi back for us to the airport. Our impression of Dar Benousda was better then the hotel where we sliep. It had a beatifull design and invirement. On the rooftop you had teriffic vlew over the old city and you could lounge there on the sofa's. The people where very friendly and the rooms where big, clean and atmospheric.
everything - i felt like i was royalty during the stay. the staff were fantastic, the hotel was incredible and so were the range of activities you cold do there. Go on to the rooftop - you will be gob-smacked!

Very clean and extremely kind staff. Lovely decoration. Hot water all the time. Very delicious breakfast with a variety of bread. Easy and short walk from the Blue gate.
Beautiful riad, great location, genuine friendly and helpful owner Dar Hafsa is a fantastic little riad off one of the main streets in Fez medina. We took a petit taxi from the station (we paid 25DH, but 12 - 15DH is about right) to Boujloud, the bright blue main gate of the medina where we were greeted by Abdul, the owner of Dar Hafsa who is very nice and speaks English well. Some of the other reviews seem wary of Abdul, and I can sort of see why - he is incredibly friendly and helpful. After hearing many warnings about scams in Fez (some from Abdul himself in a very nice welcome email) and actually meeting several 'friendly' chaps on the train who quickly offer to set you up with a guide, it's hard not to be a little paranoid. We found that it can be difficult to distinguish between genuine people and scammers. But having stayed for a couple of nights and some good chats with him nothing could be further from the truth. It is very clear that he is just incredibly proud of his home and the city and is keen to ensure that his guests enjoy the best possible stay. At no point did he try to get more money out of us or suggest we head to a particular shop/restaurant etc. He did offer to call the tourist office to arrange one of the official guides but didn't push it when we said we were just going to explore ourselves. He also upgraded our room at no additional cost because a nicer one was available that night. As the riad is family run, Abdul’s children were also very helpful. The riad itself is fantastic. Beautiful decor, good sized rooms, very clean, and the breakfasts... Oh my. Who knew pastries and breads came in so many different forms?! And it was presented very well and by Abdul himself. The terrace gives a great view of Fez, and of course, there's always the customary mint tea on arrival. Finally, and most importantly, wifi is good and fast. Next time we are in Fez we won’t bother looking for somewhere to stay, we will just head straight to Dar Hafsa.

In the heart of medieval Fes, just inside the Bab Boujeloud. Close to Jemaa F'na and all the other attractions . Taxis, restaurants, tea shops etc all close by. The entire staff made us feel welcome. Breakfast was substantial. Historic and good atmosphere.......
The location is inside the Medina near the Blue Gate, so I liked the atmosphere when you went out. there is a good restaurant with fresh food very near the hotel, ask in reception. Breakfast was splendid, staff very nice and the terrace has beautiful views over the Medina. the room was a bit dark with low ceilings, if you are tall make sure your room is taller.

Excellent atmosphere, house or lounge music plays in the evening and everyone gathers around over sheishas or beers. There are no places to go out in Fes so the Riad really caters to the young crowd. The rooms were clean and all face onto the patio, breakfast was delicious and served til late so you don't miss it if you were partying and then wanted a lie in. Met many travelers from all over the world and the Riad was always full. Stayed in a hostel in Marrakesh which was empty and it was rather depressing.
Location in the Old City was great and easy to find with the taxi or with googlemap. Communal bathrooms regularly cleaned, heating worked good in the room and there was a bar to relax in at night.

the staff over there are nice n we sent email asked abt the location of their hostel, they replied it shortly. and we arrived early than the official check in time, as there is empty room they allowed us for earlier check in, it's reli good n considerate
The room size was formidable, there was air conditioning, and had a window that looked out onto a beautiful garden where we had breakfast. The Riad is located within a few minutes walk of Bab Boujloud, which is considered by many to be the main door into the old city of Fez. There is also a beautiful terrace.

Friendly staff, they organise good, individually planned trips into the desert, the blanket on the bed really is big enough for two people! Location near the food stalls
Wonderful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Big breakfast. In the heart of the medina so the location was perfect.

It was well located in the medina - with a lot of character. The staff were friendly and helpful and the reception room was a pleasure to spend time in.
A perefct location in the Medina and relatively easy to find (compared with other riads). The staff were incredibly helpful and the rooms were extremely luxurious! Definitely recommend this Riad!
