"Really good location and kind generous staff, the tequila night was great. Sufi festival was going on in Fes and the hostel was a mere five minute walk from the venue, so made it a plus."Read all Riad Verus reviews

Many faux guides (male and female) WILL approach you in the trains often just after Meknes, bus stations and airports posing as tourist officials or students who have connections in your home town BUT they are con artists and are not to be believed, there is a lot of resentment in Fes against Westerners having businesses as you can imagine so please don´t fall into their traps, do not say you are staying here as they will then know where you are staying and not leave you alone and be calling up the hotel every day. The classic is for them to arrange a rendevous with you at a location, usually McDonalds, in the New Town or by the Post Office. Please do not believe them when they say that the Riad has burnt down or that they are working for us AS THEY ARE NOT...they are trying to encourage you to cancel your booking and go with them to another hostel so that they can claim their high commission, the Embassies are aware of these tricks and the Moroccan authorities are taking this very seriously but there are still scams operating, see View from Fes recent article about the train scams.
Every Riad is authorized to work with professional guides and we have 3 awesome ones who speak fluent English, Spanish and French if you would like to see the City hassle-free and save on commissions.
Please show you have a reservation, if they do bring you to our door it is customary in Morocco to give a tip (about 20 Dhm) (5 Dhm for a child) but explain you have a reservation and you do not need a guide for the tour of the Medina.
We recommend that you get a taxi. Ask the RED petit taxi driver to drop you off at Riad Sheherazade, Batha, close to the Batha fountain, it is a well known Hotel and can be accessed by taxi. Looking at Riad Sheherazade turn left and walk for 80 meters and turn right down the street which bears that way anyhow, we are the 1st Riad on the right with Bonsai trees, lanterns and a wooden porch. It says Riad Verus on the door knocker and the side of the wall. Make sure you are at Riad Sheherazade before you get out of the car but please don’t ring their bell.
There are signposts on the wall from the Cyber Said leading you to the Riad, 3 in total.
If we arrange for you a driver to be sent to pick you up and bring you to the door of the Riad:
Airport taxis cost 150 Dhm between 09.00 - 20.59 and 200 Dhm between 21.00 - 08.59.
From bus or train station an organised cab costs 70 Dhm between 09.00 - 20.59 and 100 Dhm between 21.00 - 08.59. Taxis hailed off the street are cheaper but are not licensed to go to the airport.
