Liked: It was an entire apartment suite, complete with sitting room and DVDs

Disliked: despite it's high ratings, the place was a disappointment because it was very damp. In fact, my asthmatic partner couldn't breathe because of the moisture.

Liked: We had a wonderful stay at Dar Mellah. As it is buried right in the heart of the Medina, we quickly felt like we had become part of the local way of life. It is very well situated, only a couple of meters away from the main lane where all the food markets are, and is only 100m away from all the other major attractions within the medina. The flat itself is beautifully decorated and is full of charm and atmosphere, as well as meeting all our practical requirements (hot water, fully equipped kitchen etc etc).Aidan was fantastic, both before our arrival with getting really useful info to us about Essaouira and things to do there, but also with helping us with our travel arrangements when we had some trouble getting onto a bus from Marrakech to Essa - he actually met us at the Marrakech station with bus tickets for us and ended up taking us into Jemaa el Fna for some lunch!! All in all a wonderful place, and highly recommended to anyone wanting to get a relaxed and authentic Essaouira experience!
