Liked: Everything!!! I xent for only two nights but changed my itinerary to sty on foir 6 nights in total as i did not want to leave. Mehdi and his staff are so welcoming and make you feel at home, nothing is too much trouble. This hostel had the best vibe out of anywhere i have ever stayed previously, i think it was definitely a combination of both the people staying there at the same time as myself and Mehdi -the manager who sets the warm and friendly vibe which can't help but bring everyone together. I have already recommended this hostel to everyone i hear is going to Morocco!

Disliked: a bar with no beer? ok, it is hard to find now because of ramadan, but they could have planned better, buying quantity for a month

Liked: Great Location. Lot special rate for Kite surf/Surf course and good value of money for great Camels ride. It great place for many water sport. Great fun for BBQ party on top of roof if many people stay at Hostel and great fun at bar as well. Great Hostel for meeting other traveler! Good breakfast if many people stay!

Disliked: One of staff who give me wrong guide for main bus station for other coach company after Super tour coach is full booked at Super tour station in other side of town.

Liked: Hi Medhi! I know you read all these reviews, so we just wanted to say a personal thanks and let you know that we really enjoyed our stay! It's definitely the coolest hostel we've been to, such a great atmosphere and friendly staff and other guests too. I'm sure Essaouira is a great town, but to be honest, we don't know because we spent all our time chilling out in the hostel with everyone! Keep up the good work, and we are happy to recommend this hostel to everyone!

Disliked: Only issue was they kept running out of beer, but it was a house full of aussies and english and I think they under-estimated how much we drink! But someone was always sent out to get more of whatever had run out, so we weren't dry for long!

Liked: Reminded me of some of the hostels in Amsterdam. Very relaxed, don't expect to get too much done. Great people, great vibe, good music and free internet. Having spent a month in a small hut in the Atlas mountains beforehand it was like arriving at a palace.

Disliked: My room (Bob Marley) had no windows and lacked a little oxygen in the middle of the night with six people sleeping. Needed to open door for a bit seeing as there were no windows.

Liked: Mehdi and Magic....thanks so much! If your looking for a hostel which is friendly, welcoming and really hospitable, Essaouira Hostel is the place to be. The guys wil go above and beyond to help and make your stay very enjoyable. Definately get ivolved in an arranged dinner, their food is fresh and delicious...and encourages interaction with other travellers. Altho the town of Essaouira didnt have a lot of activities to my taste the hostel certainly made up for this. If you want to relax and chill out and meet some great characters, stay here. Thanks again Mehdi and Magic!

Disliked: The property was great but the town lacked activities to cater for my energetic interests.

Liked: this hostel was an amazing place to stay. the staff are lovely and so helpful. here is where we also met alot of other travellers and it was just so relaxed the whole time and they have a beautiful roof terrace. its in a great location in the medina as well. the hostel was very secure as the door is locked at all times and someonw is always there to let you in. they had a lovely commual living room with FREE internet which was a major plus and they had a bar with alcohol which in Morocco is hard to come by. A great hostel with lots of character. Definitely stay here.

Disliked: the rooms were sometimes a bit cramped as a few didnt have windows, however comapred to all the good points, its very minor.

Liked: It's a party hostel, they say it, they mean it! Loved the hammocks in the light well. Price was budget minded and it is a good place to meet people. Beers were cold! I did not eat the dinner that was offered one night but it looked and smelled delicious. Water for showers was hot despite large number of people staying there. If you're from the USA and are jonesing for a taste of home, you can watch the satellite TV (in english) with arabic subtitles! ;-)

Disliked: It's a party hostel, they say it, they mean it! Couldn't hang out in the common area (where wi-fi worked best) without choking on cigarette smoke. 10 bed dorm was a bit cramped and hot when filled to capacity. Manager is a really nice guy (and fluent in at least four languages) but unfortunately there was a miscommunication between us and he booked my bed to someone else my second night there so I had to scramble and move to a different hotel for one nght. Small refrigerator on the roof terrace needs to be defrosted and cleaned out more regularly! Can be a bit ard to find until you have a map to follow.There are some well worn signs pointing you in the right direction but they need to be replaced.

Liked: We liked everything about this hostel! Great atmosphere, very chilled with super friendly staff who'll help you with anything, the bar downstairs was great to meet other people and have a beer at the end of the day also. We stayed in a double ensuite room which was beautiful, we booked only for 2 nights and ended up staying a week, couldn't recommend it more, easily the best hostel i've ever stayed in.

Liked: Great staff, atmosphere and amenities. They are constantly improving and it is greatly appreciated by travellers. It was a wonderful home away from home.

Disliked: Some of the bunk beds required a bit of agility to get to the top bunk.

Liked: The workers there are so helpful and friendly, immediately felt part of the family there. Literally can't recommend it enough, shame that it happened to be a time where there wasn't too many other travellers but medhi still created a good atmosphere, and we were cooked some lovely tagines on the house. I love these guys. I also liked having towels supplied. and hammocks and rooftop chill zone in the sun

Disliked: Nothing i wouldn't say, maybe they could have some sandiwiches or something at the bar to buy.

Liked: The manager Mehdi was so friendly & helpful. He even organised a cake for my birthday! He gave us travel advice for both Essaouria and Morocco which came in handy. The atmosphere was really social and it was really easy to meet people and chill out. One night we bought fish from the market & cooked it on the rooftop terrace - great fun!
