Liked: I booked 2 nights at Dar Skala based on the reviews on this hostel, and was delighted by my stay! Jorge the owner was great and recommended an amazing Moroccan restaurant nearby and was available for any questions or advice that I was looking for. The guesthouse itself is bright and cheery, and charming, and perfectly located in the medina. The terrace overlooking the sea is a great place for breakfast or to enjoy a peaceful afternoon. I unfortunately only had two days in Essaouira and at Dar Skala but could have probably stayed a week longer!

Liked: Very friendly staff in a relaxed house - ideal place to get away from it all in a quiet area of the city with the good view over the city from the bedroom. You can ask Aisha who works there to make you an excellent tagine for a cheap price and the roof terrace has fantastic views of the sea!!

Liked: A quaint and rustic guesthouse with an amazing terrace with views of the sea and the famous north bastion cannons. Good facilities and location to the main medina.
