Liked: Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Great social areas with loads of space. Free breakfast and just a very welcome place really, could have stayed forever.

Disliked: One of the sofas in the lounge could do with a clean, that's it really

Liked: i stayed 5 nights, more time than i've stayed in any 1 place in my travels for the last 10 weeks. it's a cool place, plenty of different fruit to pick from the garden, a store selling cheap beer right across the street, good tunes and plenty of good movies in their dvd library if you're into that too. good for independent and small group (like 2 or 3) travellers. good people, good times....

Disliked: it's a little far from the bus station and the old town but it's walkable. in the right taxi it's less than 3 euro from bus station to hostel though.

Liked: awesome hostel, great staff, close to the beach and bus terminal. Small market across the road. Great atmosphere. Had an absolute ball, if you are going to budva definately stay in hippo hostel.

Liked: This hostel is very friendly and has a cool little garden area to shelter from the heat, read, drink beers and meet people :) A very col place would definitely recommend it

Liked: Great for social atmosphere! The owners were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and travelling to different areas, as well. The bbq area and TV area were super convenient, as well. We really enjoyed our stay at the Hippo Hostel and are hoping to come back sometime during the main season. It looks like they have a ton of options and things going on for the main season (we were one of the first guests of the season, so the city isn't up and running as it would be in the high season).

Disliked: nothing.

Liked: This place was great! Was only there for one night but met a bunch of great people there, and all the excursions/activities that the owner helped them plan sounded like so much fun I wished I stayed longer! Staff very friendly & welcoming. Definitely stay here!

Disliked: Location was a little out of the way - a decent walk with a heavy pack! But the street is quiet & I felt safe there.

Liked: I loved this place! Its truly a home away from home, i never wanted to leave. I booked for 2 nights and ended up staying for 10. the staff are great, marcus is a legend, and the place is perfect for meeting other travellers. there is a lot of common areas where you can just chill and hang out. its also easy to go out as a big group as its quite small so everybody gets to know each other. i HIGHLY recommend this place, you must go there. you won't regret it. :)

Liked: A nice place with a separate tv/common room, nice garden to hang out in, barbecue and kitchen available. Overall good! It was easy to meet people here. Good breakfast too, available until you wake up!

Liked: fantastic hostel. owner was so friendly and helpful, there was information up about buses and tours, the free breakfast was elaborate inc eggs, really nice social atmosphere, great people, great outdoor communal area, large kitchen, free internet...

Liked: Relaxed atmosphere. Did not feel overcrowded as can be the case at some hostels. Clean.

Disliked: The patio door on to the balcony did not lock properly so some times we had to leave it unlocked which did not feel secure, though the general feel of the place was one of security and nothing went missing

Liked: Large garden and outdoor common area, free internet, full size kitchen and a substantial free breakfast including eggs, bread, jam, cereal, etc...Helpful staff, Marcus arranged a kayaking trip for us and there are lots of other day trips including rafting and going to Albania. Overall a real nice place without the touristy feel of Budva.

Liked: Great place to meet people, staff were really helpful. It's a little way out of town, but that's probably a good thing.

Disliked: Could do with a toilet separate from the showers, there seemed to be a permanent queue.
