Liked: Modern, clean hostel with kitchen and lounge to socialise in so you can get peace in the dorms. They will pick up from the train station for 4 euros which is useful if arriving late at night - it's within walking distance (couple of km), but would be hard to find in the dark when you don't know the place. The mall around the corner has a supermarket in it, so it's easy to get food and drinks nearby. City centre is about a 15 minute walk.

Disliked: No real downsides - they were going to charge me 4 bed dorm rates for the 6 bed dorm (on the basis that there happened to be only 4 people staying in the room!), which is the first time I've had that in a hostel ... but they agreed to the 6 bed dorm rate when I complained. So no complaints other than that, it's a good, clean hostel with good facilities and nice bathrooms.

Liked: The atmosphere in the hostel is amazing! Super helpful staff! Very clean, comfortable beds.. Located not in the very centre but still a very good location. Thank you guys for everything! I'll definitely come back!

Liked: The advantages of this hostel are the good location, the nearby shopping mall, spacious rooms and the very friendly staff.

Disliked: The big disadvantage is the noise caused by some "guests", who live in the hostel on a permanent basis, turning the kitchen into their daily party place til late after midnight and through this annoying all the other normal hostel guests.

Liked: I really didn't know what to expect in Moldova, but this hostel helped make my stay in the country a great one! The staff are very helpful and attentive, and also are great people to talk to and learn more about the region. The hostel is very clean and modern. A little hard to find the first time, but after that it's quite easy. Strongly recommended.

Liked: Tanya was very helpful responding to emails before my arrival.

Disliked: 1. Staff onsite (1 Canadian and 1 American) are not locals... so they do not speak the local language (i.e., difficult to even call a taxi) and have no knowledge of Moldova/Chisinau... so not too helpful in planning your stay. 2. This is a party hostel and noise goes on well into the night.

Liked: All the guests were interesting and experienced travellers with plenty of stories to tell, and it was nice to see locals dropping in to hang out as well. The barbecues on the front steps were great fun.

Disliked: The bathrooms could be kept a little cleaner, but this isn't Western Europe, so I won't complain too much about that.

Liked: Helpful and friendly staff, ok location (easy bus access to downtown area), good atmosphere

Disliked: Ok so there are at least two roosters living close to the hostel. If you're unlucky you might end up having one of them literally right outside of your window. Now, this might not seem like a big deal but this rooster starts crowing around 3:30 AM and goes on at irregular intervals during the rest of the morning/day. Apart from that everything was absolutely fine.

Liked: Staff were lovely, I like the common room, good atmosphere, close to large shopping mall and all public transports.

Disliked: Kitchen is a bit unclean and could have better utensils etc. Breakfast wasn't fantastic, Can be quite difficult to find with the directions on this website, needs mosquito nets.

Liked: OK, so accomodation in Chisinau is limited, but this hostel has everthing you need + a nice common room in the basement. I had a good night out with the staff too!

Liked: Chisinau Hostel is the only 'real' backpackers hostel in Chisinau, hence the price! The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and informative, and make every effort to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe stay. I like the location, next to a brand new shopping mall and if you like walking, the city centre and all the important sites are only a 15 mins walk from the hostel. Transportwise, the hostel is very well connected via a short bus ride (cost 2 or 3 Lei), and within 5 mins you're in the centre. The bathrooms, kitchen and common room were kept clean. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm which was spacious, simple and guaranteed a peaceful nights sleep. Chisinau Hostel is a great place to base yourself and visit the wine country and Transnistria, plus I highly recommend a visit to Alexander Pushkin museum, at the museum do take the guided tour (it's affordable, informative and really worth every Lei). If you're looking for a hostel with a backpackers vibe, WiFI that works, 24/7 hot showers, friendly staff, then stay at Chisinau Hostel.

Disliked: The hand towels in the bathrooms should be changed over on a daily basis, as lots of people use them and after a day they leave a stale smell on your hands.

Liked: Staff (most) were brilliant. Being so close to Malldover was handy.

Disliked: The kitchen is way too small for the amount of people, not enough fridge space. One member of staff very rude, others brilliant. Very difficult to find in the dark when first arriving, needs better signpost. Too many Peace Corps people..

Liked: The atmosphere was great, it was almost like a house. The staff were really nice and helpful. It was close to shopping facilities in the mall and with easy transport to the centre of the city. They had a nice lounge in the basement where it is nice to sit and relax (or work)

Disliked: The temperature of the shower was not stable, but hopefully they will fix that soon

Liked: Hostel is in what looks to be a recently built house, so insides its all modern and kept clean. There is a big common room, and is a great place to meet other travellers. It is just behind a shopping mall that has a big supermarket and a food court.

Disliked: Only problem which is not so bad is that it is a bit far out from the centre of town, its about a 30 min walk or there are regular buses.

Liked: Helpful staff and even though it was a walk from the centre it was just behind a big mall which had a supermarket and food court.

Disliked: Distance from city centre. Shower was hit and miss for hot water. Big problem though was an pick up we organised from the train station and even though we specified we would arrive at 830am they didn't send pick up until 1030 so had to wait for 2hours at the station.
