amazing escape in your own bungalow, so relaxing and friendly (even had out own kitchen). Joshua was a fantastic host, laid back and helpful. Great tips for local sites and the best spots on the beautiful beach
atmosphere: just amazing, exactly how you imagine a "secret garden". Super friendly staff! Location is great, close to the main street (where colectivos can be found) and to the bus station.

Polite and friendly staff, who are willing to help out with avice about where to go and what to do. There are also hot showers, a bar for meeting ppl casually and the hostel is close to all the restaurants and bars. I was able to sleep right through the night without being woken up although the 4 bedroom dorm isa little small and hot. All in all a good place
The staff is really frendly. The hostel has a nice bar, where u can find others travellers. In a few words, the atmosphere at this hostel is awesome. I had a great time there!

As other people have said it's location is one of the best for getting to the beach and the ruins. The free bikes are great and so helpful.
We came for 2 nights, and are still here, staying for 7. We have stayed elsewhere in town before and it was no where near as nice as here. It's the perfect locatoon, halfway between town and the beach. The dorms are spacious, comfy, and have lockers. The showers are hot, the bathrooms are clean. There is drinking water for you to help yourself too. Free bikes which is amazing! Beach is 10 minute cycle, town is 5 minutes and a huge supermarket is across the road. The wifi is good. The actual hostel is a beautiful wooden building with a big outside terrace to sit and chill in the evening. I've travelled a lot and if you want some rest and relaxation this is a great hostel to stay in. (It's not a party hostel). Lots of books and games for chilled evenings drinking beers :) the private rooms also look really nice!! We stayed in the female dorm.

I loved Dora and her eagerness and friendliness. Great, quiet location and a lovely place to escape the party atmosphere and relax within a local's home.
I like this place. It's basically just a house where they've stuffed a whole load of beds in a room. Nice atmosphere and good location one block from the main street, ten minute walk from the bus station. Dora, the lady who runs the place, is lovely. They have a hammock and several lovely cats.

Cenote Encantado is 100% NOT a party place. It is a spiritual camp geared towards people looking to relax, chillout, and become one with the sights and sounds of the beach, jungle and nature in general. Situated a easy 100 paces from the beach, Cenote Encantado is very close to the surf, in fact, it can be heard at night, amongst the jungle critters. Best described as (with no malice intended) a "shanti"-town (pun intended). The tents are the only place in 14 days that ~I Did Not Receive A Single Mosquito Bite~ (while sleeping). A simple tent check before bed, and your worry free! +All tents come with power! They even have a fresh water Cenote in their backyard! That allows for great fresh water bathing! Once again, this place is NOT geared towards people looking for a place to crash after a night of getting wasted. I even felt uncomfortable drinking a beer and eating meat, though after asking they assured me that they had no qualms. Though it is an ideal spot, if one is in search of a quiet retreat! Quite unique! +1
It was nice and quiet, perfect if you want to just relax and listen to nature at night. They have bikes that you can use to venture towards Tulum or go into Sian Ka'an and the bikes were constantly being serviced so they always were in excellent condition. The hostel is just a 2 min walk to the beach.

The staff are helpful if you need directions or ideas. There are big, secure lockers in the rooms. Beds are made everyday which was a nice surprise. The location is fairly good, the hostel is witjin walking distance of the town and the road to catch thd colectivo.
New, quiet, and very clean. Not a party spot, but a serene place, yet a few blocks from the main street cafes and bars, and only a twelve minute walk to the ruins and beach ( $6). Free public beaches are a .50 bus ride away. Bike rentals nearby. 6 min. Walk from ADO bus station. Many inexpensive restaurants and bodegas within a minute or two walk. Very nice, friendly, helpful staff, though most with limited English...but that gives you a chance to practice your Spanish. Kitchenette for cooking.

Mama is wonderful, cares about all her clients, young and old. Breakfasts were varied and hearty. Room was large.

Really cool atmosphere. Great place to meet other travelers. Its not a huge party place but there i music and people drinking till midnight each night. there are also some clubs in town to go to afterwards. Definitely stay here if you want to meet other people and have a good time, not if you want to sleep. The resorts on the beach are isolated so it's better to stay in town especially if you're a solo traveler. I am traveling alone and met lots of people to hang out with. Highly recommend this place!
The "burn your own BBQ" is great, especially when you can get 2 beers with it for 15 pesos. People seem to appreciate the beach shuttle, but at 2 round trips daily the schedule was never convenient for us. A taxi to anywhere in Tulum is onlt 50 pesos so it's not a big deal.

A tranquil and charming place where you can relax. You can use the Kajaks to explore the little Cenote in the back, swim in the sea and enjoy the beach or get to town easily to party or plan trips.
The volunteer staff were excellent very friendly, namely Jeff (Jean Francois) who was a joy. It's a great location if you want beach, cenote and reservation. Otherwise it's difficult getting into town, if you don't want to pay 120pesos then hitchhiking is the transport of choice.
