Liked: First you're greeted by a friendly smile and a hand shake, then you notice the amazing view of the valley from the poolside and finally see the clean and compfortable room. The onsite restaurant and bar also got good use. Definitely worth the visit.

Liked: We had a great time staying at La Villada for 5 nights. The two owners (brothers) did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They even included us in their familial day of the dead celebrations, giving us an experience a tourist wouldn't normally be graced with.The location is outside of town, but it's easy enough to take a bus or cab back to the hostel. I actually appreciated being away from the noise and craziness of the center.Thanks for everything!

Liked: La LA la Villada! Fantastic introduction to Oaxaca and all there is around. We arrived on the start of our trip and were very kindly taken by the owners to a gathering in the local cemetary for Dia de las Muertos. Everyone at the hostel, working and visiting, were more than friendly and you had lots of space to relax around the pool. The food was better than all the meals had around the Zocola and the coffee will be missed. We are definately returning after our travels en route home to Scotland!!

Liked: The place is very nice, has a nice swimming pool, the owners are very friendly and the breakfast is very good.

Disliked: the location - it's very far from the city center and it's not easy the find the place. When we arrived they told us that there was a problem with the booking and that they were overbooked that night. They compensate us with a nice place in the city and with a free breakfast, but it's really not nice after driving several hours. One of the rooms didn't lock from inside.

Liked: The property is well located in that it has a gorgeous view over the whole valley of oaxaca and youcan watch the sunset from the pool. however, a taxi to or from the centre will cost you around 50 pesos a pop. you can get local buses for next to nothing by walking to the main road, but allow about half an hour to get from door to door. a great place to stay!

Liked: A lovely place to stay. The family is so friendly and will help you with everything. We could stay all day till our bus was leaving (8 pm) without having to pay extra. They booked for us the next hostel in San Cristobal. Although it is not in the centre of the city, it is a perfect location with a wonderfull view over the mountains! We defently would recommend this hostel for staying in Oaxaca!!!

Liked: BEST PANCAKES IN THE WORLD.che (the owner and builder of the entire thing) is a legend, books tours for you if you want which are cheap and worthwhile! got us taxis whenever we needed and he orders you pizza when you get kinda hungry later at night! Pool is a lovely place to hang out, and - once again - its worth a visit just for the immense pancakes.

Liked: chay and javier were really really nice and helpful, the location is a little bit outside, you have to take a taxi to get to the center, but the view is nice! food was good, rooms were clean and big, we enjoyed to hang out by the pool!

Liked: This place is amazing! Tranquil setting, beautiful family who run the Hostel, yummy home cooking and lovely charming rooms. Don`t be put off by the fact itis just out of town, its a stunning semi rural setting and only a 50peso taxi ride into town centre. Loved it and wouldnt hesitate to return. PS The only reason I gave it an an average for fun place tomeet people is that when we were there the family who run La Villada were having a well earned holiday and wewere the only guests

Liked: The services are great and inexpensive, the staff is very helpful and full of good advises for having fun in Oaxaca.... it is not close to the center of the town though, but the taxis are inexpensive and friendly.

Liked: Great place to stay. A little away from the centre, but doesn't matter. The view, the rooms and the staff more than make up for the short taxi trip. One of the top two places I stayed in Mexico -December 2008.
