Liked: It's the best place to stay in Mexico City. There you get everything from best location to great fun with staff and other travelers. Rooms are comfortable and super clean. Breakfast was ok.

Disliked: Paulina left no negative feedback.

Liked: The atmosphere was cool, even a solitary traveller like me enjoyed the staying in the hostel. All the guests have been involved by the staff in a lot of activities.

Liked: Accepted credit cards.

Disliked: Dorms open to restaurant below, you can watch people eat while you shower and vice a versa. No power outlets in room. Wifi doesn't work with Apple products. Key card had to be reprogrammed three times.

Liked: The roof terrace was pretty great., nice view to the Zócalo. small kitchen with a nice terrace to relax. Really good breakfast served with a diversity of fruits.

Disliked: The noises from the Zócalo and the bar downstairs, but you are right in the centre so you have to deal with it. If you have some earplugs is fine.

Liked: Staff were friendly enough, rooms were nice enough...

Disliked: They have timer showers....very frustrating since if I want a longer shower I'm just going to keep pressing it. Still, an annoyance after 20 hours of traveling that I would have rather avoided. As above, I can't stress how lowly I think of the hostel cheating every guest on the exchange rate. At the moment MXN to USD is around 11.5, certainly no higher than 12. The hostel uses 13 to earn an extra profit, which is just terrible. They may not ever see the deposit payed to site like HostelBookers, but given other hostels play by the rules and compromise for the additional business, so too should Mundo Joven. I would avoid this hostel since it costs $16 instead of $13, and stay at one that is actually worth $16/night. The lack of power outlets in the dorm room was frustrating. Ignore the novice traveler rating. I tend to use hostels.com...I've been traveling for 7 years and lived and worked in over 50 hostels. I know what I am talking about.

Liked: The staff were very helpful in answering all of my questions and helping me enjoy my stay.

Disliked: The location is great, but there is a lot of noise from the square for rooms facing out onto the square which battles with the loud music pumping from downstairs.

Liked: its location, it was livley and the roof top terrace makes it worth it.

Disliked: the staff were bordering on rude at times. The roof top bar closed at 10pm with out warning on a Friday night. It wasn't as cheap as the City Hostel down the road so for value for money, and a 2 min walk the City is better but for meeting people this place was great

Liked: Hostel close to Zocalo and more important close to the metro station. They do a good effort in having your luggage at a safe place, tagging the bags. The bar closes around 10 PM so it gets calm after that.

Disliked: Staff was not friendly nor helpfull. After paying everything they inform us that we didn't get the room we booked, but we got seperate beds. Strangly enough it's more expensive but you can't figure out the invoice. When you ask for a taxi, a dodgy guy shows up and you get in a car without any taxi sign(we had to get to the airport so not much choice) while, as we drove by, there is a taxi stop 50m from the hostel. The biggest minor was that you have the wear a hard plastic bracelet during your stay. Wireless internet almost never worked.

Liked: It offered a bed, WiFi, breakfast (toast, cereal, instant-coffee) and a shower - all you need after 16 hours of flight. Only stayed one night, so we didn't really get to know the hostel too well. The roof terrace is really nice! You need your key-card to access the elevator and every bed has it's one locker that fits even a small bagpack.

Disliked: The walls and the patio transport noise, so you hear bangings and voices all night (and day) long. If you have a light sleep, this might bother you.

Liked: Excellent location. You can see the cathedral from the rooftop bar. Perfect place to meet people. Nice bar at the entrance. Good and clean rooms and bathrooms. Take the Teotihuacan tour from Wayac Tour (you can buy it at the hostel), it´s excellent.

Disliked: If you wanna go to bed early it´s a bit noisy because of the bar downstairs. I recommend you to ask for a room with windows on the street.

Liked: - the free walking tours with guide are absolutely the best. You get to know the other people in the hostel and learn interesting things about the city... -fabolous roof terrace!!!

Disliked: - the music in the restaurant is (like always in mexico) a bit too loud. This ends at 10 at night. People who are not so aware of loud music during the day should stay away of this hostel...

Liked: Location was excellent. It was more like a fancy hotel with soaps and lotions and TV in the room. Staff was friendly, though they did not provide the best up to date info on some of the attractions...

Disliked: EVERY hostel I have been to lately has been trying to scam more money than what is on hostebookers receipt and these guys were no exception. They use the exchange rate to make it seem like you owe more, but I can do math. Or they use the language barrier. Or they use the fact that it is a deposit that they supposedly don't receive. Either way, at a certain point of exhaustion you either break down or get loud... Speaking of LOUD...I have never been in a louder hostel in my life and I have been to 5 out of 7 continents. And the windows or should I say shutters in the room open into the lobby/restaurant/source of all Top 40 blaring madness...and they don't lock. Finally, when I book a room with 2 beds a month in advance...Don't wait until I get up 8 flights of stairs with my luggage to find out that there is only one bed...Have my reservation right or explain your mistake and my subsequent options at the front desk.

Liked: The location is very convenient. They have a fantastic terrace with a perfect view over the cathedral and zocalo.

Disliked: The toilet and shower room are smelly. Some staffs are not very friendly. And, it is noisy at night.

Liked: Great location, no more than 6 ppl per dorm (very spacious), our ensuite was super clean, very comfy beds and pillows.

Disliked: Staff were not that friendly, care factor did not seem to be very high, maybe because they see so many tourists come and go, breakfast was abit too sweet for my liking (frosties with super sweet yoghurt, white bread toast with jam) but fresh fruit was good. The music downstairs in the cafe plays VERY LOUDLY non-stop all day.

Liked: Trrace is quite nice.

Disliked: The cleaning lady did litle more than emptying the rubbish bins. The place is extremely noisu . Unberable cooking smell in the whole building.

Liked: Central Location and helpfulness of staff.

Disliked: Windows opened into courtyard which made it very loud. the restaurant downstairs has music from first thing until 10 at night and noise between so sleep is disrupted.
