Liked: it is a very nice location with a lovingly decorated interior. the guy in charge was nice but didn't really have a clue what he should do. Didn't really matter as the hostel was clean, close to the center (zocalo) and we only stayed one night.

Disliked: we felt a little lonely because we were the only ones in the hostel but it didn't really matter for 1 night. What really bothered us was that the bathroom which was located inside of the private room had no roof so you had no privacy at all... in general i'm not sure if mérida itself is worth a stay, better go to valladolid, it's much nicer.

Liked: The hostel is in a beautiful old house, in a good location, and has very good security. The free breakfast is very nice is the owner is nice and helpful. The hostel is very clean.

Disliked: No internet while we were there, but this is being fixed.

Liked: Really nice building and nice room

Disliked: we arrived at 7 after an overnight bus and despite ringing the door bell got no answer until 9am so had to sit on the doorstep in the rain. Doesnt have any internet what so ever. The man all other people meantion is not around the only person available doesnt speak much english. So no internet am no 24 hour reception.

Liked: carlos was super helpful, and the place had a lot of character (Edwin, the owner who I heard a lot about, is apparently very sick right now and is staying at home) very charming place and fruits and bread for breakfast. great location short walk to the Noreste station where you did a lot of one day short trips. and few blocks walk to center but still quiet enough that you could get good night sleep

Disliked: there was only the ceiling fan and a standing fan in my room, which for me was fine, but I'm guessing it would get hotter if the room was filled with people (i was in a 4 ppl room alone). you need to be let in via ringing the bell, meaning that if the person on watch was in the shower or sth, you'd be waiting for a bit... but this only happened once

Liked: Edwin couldn't be a better host - incredibly helpful and friendly, making sure that we wanted for nothing and full of information about the local sights and area. The house itself is just beautiful, really lovely furnishings and art work. Breakfasts were fantastic - fresh fruit plate, excellent coffee and beautifully fresh pastries.

Liked: Everything was perfect here. The staffs were extremely kind. I loved being here. This hostel made my trip even better!!! This is the best hostel that I've ever stayed. The breakfast was so good, too! If you get to talk with Carlos, you're gonna want to stay more!!!

Liked: A realy wonderful place with a great charm and character. Beautifully decorated it looks more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. Good location. Staff nice and helpfull. Good wi-fi. Nice breakfast. Highly recommended.

Disliked: Nothing, only we could not stay longer:-)

Liked: Excellent hostel, really clean and comfortable. The owner, Edwin, is great aswell. He is really friendly and helpful and has some great advice on things to do and see around Merida, we just wish we had more time to take advantage of it. And the free breakfast is great aswell.

Liked: We were just here for one night, but the owner is really friendly and helpful, the private room was nice and clean and the breakfast was tasty.

Liked: A very nice place to stay, welcomed by a wonderful owner, who takes time to explain you everything about the area, the events and more -he helped us a lot when we lost things in the city-... The rooms are really nice, and the breakast is perfect in regard of the heat (fruits of the region). We really enjoyed our stay there, and came back for our last day in Mexico.

Liked: Staff was excellent - so nice and helpful!

Disliked: Location was kind of bad. Its about a 10 minute walk from the main plaza and it gets pretty dark at night (there are several hostels right along the plaza for about the same price). Its also on the opposite side from the bus stations (about a 25-30 minute walk) so its not very convenient for day trips from Merida either.

Liked: This is a really lovely, clean hostel. The owner, Edwin, is very friendly and helpful and speaks excellent English. I also enjoyed the breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries and coffee.

Liked: This place is very very nice, very pretty and neat. The owner Edwin is warm and helpful. He makes sure that every day of your stay is fulfilled. I'd come back again to this hostel for sure~!!!Love it~! I highly recommend it to everyone who is going to travel to Merida. Close to city center too... The house itself is a historical site. Make sure you visit there... lovely place and lovely owner...~

Liked: A very old building full of Mexican antique decoration, religeous settting is a place full of the owners character and favourite. Just like a small museun inside the hostel give you a kind of calmness and peacful mind. I like the full plate of different kind of fruits in my breakfast with bread or cake and the drink. It is simple but healthy. Edkwin is nice guy. helpful and kind. A nice hostel to stay.

Liked: Edwin, of course! He was extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us a great restaurant recommendation (go to El Trapiche!!) and also directions around Merida. Breakfast was AWESOME, there was always a huge fruit platter that was a great way to start the day. There´s also a park 2 blocks away that has grass you can sit in........a novelty!

Disliked: The building was right next to a small welding/construction business, so a few times we got woken up at about 7:30 or 8 (no big deal if you are a morning riser). And this wasn´t a problem for me or my bf, but get ready to get very intimate if you are traveling with someone or in a dorm.. the bathrooms have no ceiling, so you can hear everything that´s going on!

Liked: We liked an exeptional welcoming atmosphere there, which is thanks to its owner. Whats more, its close to the zocalo.

Liked: Very nice owner with good information's.Also not direct on the main square.So in the night no big traffic.

Disliked: Lot of plants in the house ( what is good for the atmosphere !!! ), but it attracts also the mosquitos.So bring a good insect repelent with you . Room spray for these little bastards is also a good buy .
