Liked: The staff at this hostel are all very welcoming and helpful. Its a very fun hostel, great for meeting people. The meals provided are awesome. Definately recommend!

Liked: The staff were fantastic, especially Marco, Carlos and Monica. The food was amazing. Overall, this is probably the best hostel i have ever stayed in.

Liked: This is the best hostel I ever stayed at. I was impressed by the team's dedication, care and friendliness and would die for another home cooked meal at Hotel Quetzal.

Disliked: Nothing - it was really perfect.

Liked: Friendly staff, very helpful, food provided was really good. They offered lots of site seeing and great nights out. It was an extremely affordable place. Monica (the owner) was very professional and approachable.

Disliked: Pretty run down and grimy place. There was only one toilet/shower facility for all the people staying. The showers weren't great, there was no hot water.

Liked: Excellent food, staff are approachable at all hours and very helpful. Personally I haven't had better hired service. The social facilities are fantastic

Liked: Fantastic Hostel. Everything you could ask for is available. The food is great and it's a good place to meet people if you are travelling alone as I was. The staff are really helpful and make you feel really at home. Another plus was the free bottled water, as this can add up when you're buying it every day.

Liked: The place is so friendly, it is great how everyone sits down together each night while the delicious dinner is being served up. These guys will really look after you ! They even serve you breakfast to your table!

Liked: great staff is always around and happy to help! All of them (including the kitchen staff) seem to smile all day

Disliked: Too many people around solely for Spring Break. But hardly the hostels fault.

Liked: Everybody was really welcoming and very friendly. It felt like we were all a big family. The food was excellent as well. I felt really safe even though the hostel isn't located near the hotel zone. I really enjoyed going out with a large group from the hostel every night. Met a lot of great people.

Disliked: I don't think I honestly disliked anything about Hostel Quetzal. It was fabulous.

Liked: Very friendly hostel where you can meet lots of other people very easily over the dinners included in the hostel price. The hostel is in a good location downtown and is only a 10 minute bus journey from all the beaches and is a 5 min walk from the bus station. A very clean room, and a friendly, almost family atmosphere coupled woth very helpful and pleasant staff made the stay very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Liked: It was amazing. Didn't want to leave at all! Met a lot of people from all over the world. The free diner was delicious every night and fun with everybody. STAY THERE!

Disliked: Before you book a tour check with them if the entrance fees are included. Otherwise you might book a public one since it is more expensive to pay everything by yourself.

Liked: Good location near central bus station. Staff are great. Community atmosphere. Dinner was excellent, place was well kept. All in all..one of the best hostels I've stayed at. Gracious....hope to be back soon!

Liked: Location and dining together was of great value. The diner is perfect to meet new people. The breakfast with fresh fruint was excellent. It was clean.

Disliked: The hostel gave away the room we made a reservation for. Unfortunately the staff didn´t respond to our satisfaction.

Liked: You've found the best hostel in Cancun!!it really is like a home away from home. Breakfast and dinner are included and the food is fabulous! the place seems to only attract great people, and the staff are incredibly helpful from booking tables for dinner to showing you where to get the bus from. We got our laundry done here, very cheap and comes back super clean, smelling great, folded and all. Location wise I loved it, close to some super great taco places and a place where they salsa at night. Its not in hotel zone, but downtown- which I preferred as it felt more relaxed and still had walking distance bars etc. The bus to hotel zone is only 8 pesos, and even a cab is cheap if you want to go out at night.Would never stay anywhere else, highly highly recommend!

Disliked: Only down side is it is not in hotel zone- but we actually preferred this! only a short 8 peso ride there though so its no problem at all.

Liked: highly frequented hostel in Cancun downtown: close to ADO bus terminal, good for shopping+eating+cinema at places where the locals go; private ensuite very cute, clean and spacious room; mattrass was uncomfortable; room equipped with fan + A/C; offered breakfast even for "early birds"; dinner in the evening was for free! and good chance to meet other travellers

Liked: I extended a day. The meals included with the room were very good and they were helpful in getting me a tour to Chichen Itza. I really enjoyed my stay here.

Disliked: lockers would have been nice, but security was pretty good

Liked: Great hostel. One of the best I've been to and fantasstic value for money given the free good breakfast and great evening meal.Easy to find and very easy to get to places from.
