Liked: Very, very clean and the staff was extremely helpful! We asked for a DVD-player one night and they got one for us and also drove us to Victoria so that we could rent a movie. Exellent service!!!

Disliked: The street outside was VERY loud. Sometimes it feels like you have a truck in your bedroom.

Liked: The hotel is really close to the harbour and nicely old-fashioned. There's a TV in the room

Liked: My second straight year I stay in Lantern! The only on Gozo I've found where I as single only have to pay for 1 person. Very friendly host family, Joseph will take care of you. Very centrally located, 100m to the beach. Great value.

Disliked: Street-side is rather noisy until ~22:00. Have to keep quiet since sound travels easily.. Room door is a simple, common inhouse-door, ie. not very safe... I was hesitant to leave "valuables" in the room, no safety box or anything like that.

Liked: The innkeepers are very nice.

Disliked: A long way to go to join the ferry in Mgarr. The view from my window : walls ! The noise early in the morning.

Liked: The village is a pleasant village. Lantern House is very nice and clean, with good service from Josef and his wife. We can also recommend the restaurang, with very nice staff and really good cooking.We absolutely enjoyed our stay there./Guests from Sweden.

Liked: Clean and comfortable, family -run place. Very close to Marsalforncentre and dive schools. Ideal for divers wanting quiet accomodation.Attached restaurant serves good quality fresh food - local fish a speciality.

Liked: I can't speak highly enough of the Lantern. Joseph and family are only too keen to help travellers. Rates are good value and include a decent breakfast each morning. I would recommend this place to first-time travellers to Gozo as it is a good starting point to explore the island. (Also close to the three or so Malsaform Dive Operators). Good internet services (and a printer!) are available for travellers ... handy when making other bookings etc.

Liked: Location was fantastic, the bus service is okay if you are not travelling early or late in the day. Breakfast was great the staff cook it for you and serve you. The only downfall was the shower ,as it provides more of a tricke than a shower. However this was the only thing that i could fault with the place so all in all it was a great hostel.

Liked: Joseph the owner was extremely helpful and friendly offering information about the island and how to find our way around the island, he picked us up from the ferry terminal as the buses had stopped running as we arrived late! The hotel has been in the family for 3 generations so you can see the care taken to keep the hotel looking great!
