Liked: Nothing!

Disliked: Really grubby...I'm a seasoned traveller but this was the 'wrong kind of grubby'. I checked out straight away.

Liked: The location was ok. The Hostel is located close to the water but it isn't anything special. Unfortunatly the common room was to little, but they also had a roof garden, which was nice but not really used by the other guests. We booked a homestay over the hostel, which was nice.

Disliked: One thing was, that you had to pay to use their computers to surf in the internet.

Liked: Great location and nice place to chill out to get away from the humidity outside. Friendly staff and good big, although basic, double rooms.

Disliked: Toilets were not the cleanest and one area of toilets / showers in the building didn't work the whole time we were there. Also the sinks are in the room with the shower so if someone is in the shower you have to go to find another bathroom area to wash your hands after the toilet.

Disliked: Frontdoor is locked at nigfht time -> No fire exit.

Liked: Roof top terrace and waterfront location

Disliked: The evening before we left, we went out for a meal just around the corner. We had already packed our backpacks ready to leave the following morning. My husband returned to the room within 5 minutes of leaving it because we had forgotten something and found a senior member of staff in ourroom - acting very suspiciously. When challenged, my husband was told that we had left the room unlocked. The room was most definitely locked when we left it. Please be VERY CAREFUL with your belongings if you stay here.

Liked: very good location, staff were brilliant answering any questions and organising tour for me. Good sea view from room and terrace with sea views was pleasant to sit out in during evening

Liked: Location was brilliant, as well as helpful staff who gave honest advice about places you can visit alone rather than a tour etc. Hostel is basic but for Borneo, clean, comfortable and does the job!

Liked: The hostel is right next to the harbour so in a great location, but the hot water in the showers never seemed to work, and the cockroaches weren't too great either! Friendly and helpful staff though.

Liked: Very quite hostel... small area to hang out and watch tv beside reception but staff were always had it taken over. Rooms were basic, but there was rain when we were there and our ceeling leeked a lot and there was always a big puddle on the floor, we were lucky we didnt leave any of our stuff near the leak. We told the staff but they didnt come to clean it up or fix it or anything. Toilets ok but out of three showers only one is slightly warm. Beda hard as rock.

Liked: The staff were incredibly friendly and the whole place was really nice and home-y. Our room was airy and bright and very clean and the breakfast was nice (just toast and jam, but still good). The hostel is located right on the waterfront near lots of shops and restaurants and tour operators pick up from here so it is good for planning other things.AND the hostel kitten was adorable!

Liked: The staff was very helpfull and there was a little kitten called Skinny.The beds however were as hard as stone and the curtains to thin to keep any light out. The showers were very filthy.

Liked: Good location, organised tours through the place which were all good and left luggage there while away for a few days. However, beware electricity cuts do occur in Sandakan.

Liked: Community room was nice and staff friendly. Very good located near the sea promenade. Room was quite big, but hardly furnished, only the bed, no cupboard neither bed table, but clean. Rates was RM 50 for Doubleroom, ok but not cheap. Good place to stay for low budget.
