Liked: Nice set up, bit away from the beach. I had my room in the house attached to Annie's. Nice living room, plenty of the space to relax. The family running the homestay was very friendly and welcoming. Would recomend the place, but if you have an issue with your room, ask them to give you some other. Nice breakfast.

Disliked: Unfortunattely, the room was stinking very badly. First I thought it was the bathroom next door, but that was not the case. Finished sleeping on the sofa in the living room for part of the night. The floor in the bathroom could do with a clean as well. Like someone had an accident in there. The rest of the property was clean.

Liked: While being away from home it is great to feel so welcome at a place you're just staying for a few days. I had a great time with Annie and her lovely family. Having great talks and playing badminton for me were the highlights of my stay in Penang. Thanks a lot!

Liked: Annie and her family are so friendly! Made me feel right at home. The beath is literally a 5 min walk and a fraction of the cost the beachfront hotels would charge.

Liked: The room was good value for money. Large room in house next door to the family's. Our room had 2 windows, double bed, desk and wardrobe. Location was good for Batu Ferringhi, close to main street, beach and night Market. Location good if you want the beach but if you will be visiting George Town a lot, bear in mind it's more than an hour each way on a local bus (with air con). Bus service is good though - frequent and clean. The family were very friendly and nice and helpful. Provide good laundry service.

Disliked: Shared toilet and shower could have been cleaned more often. Wifi quite patchy.

Liked: Annie's family are all really great and amazing people! I really felt at home with them. They were so helpful, they gave me great advise on where to go for the best experience in Penang, Also, my room was very nice, spacious and clean. ( I had a double bed) :) While I was there it was quite at the hostel, so for most of the time I even had the shower and the bathroom to myself. I would recommend Annie's homestay for anybody who is looking for a very nice, secure, quite hostel with the most friendly, kind and helpful owners!

Liked: Annie and Raj and family were lovely people and made us feel 'at home'. The property was spotless and we would have liked to stay longer. the location was excellent and easy to find. I would certainly want to stay there again and would book for a longer stay in this friendly 'homestay'.

Disliked: The only thing I would have liked would be wifi, but for a short stay that didn't matter.

Liked: Annie and her family are the most amazing hosts. I had only ever stayed in hostels before, never a homestay, so was unsure of what to expect - I needn't have worried! Annie's homestay is incredibly warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble, the house is located in a lovely quiet area a few minutes walk from beautiful Batu Ferringhi beach, and there is a multitude of amazing hawker/street food stalls nearby to satisfy your appetite. I cannot recommend Annie's homestay enough, we had a wonderful stay there.

Liked: Annie and the rest of her family are amazingly friendly and helpful- it really does feel a bit like a home stay. Everyone in the family- even the young kids- speak very good English and quite interesting to talk to. Their house is down a well lit side-street away from the main road in a quiet residential area so there's no noisy traffic felt perfectly safe to walk around at night. It's an easy <10 minute walk to the beach, restaurants, cheap food stalls, and a decent sized night market.

Disliked: There's a dog somewhere in the neighborhood that likes to start barking fairly early in the morning.

Liked: Probably the best value for money we've experienced. Annie as a person is extremely helpfull and the place is well kept. I'd strongly recomend this place!

Disliked: There's no free WiFi, but that's the Only bad thing I can think of.

Liked: Annie's home stay is in a very convenient location from the Batu Ferrenghi Strip an beaches. Annie, Raj and their family make you feel very welcome and have excellent knowledge of the surrounding area. Annie also goes out of her way to accommodate all her guests needs no matter how small. It offers excellent value for money.

Disliked: Would have liked a kettle in the communal area of my part of the home stay just so that I could have had a cup of tea when I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night but that was a small thing compare to Annie's hospitality overall.

Liked: Loved staying here, Annie, Raj and the children are so welcoming and friendly, it was a real pleasure to stay there, they all have such a good sence of humour. The room I stayed in was nice and very clean. Felt very homely there and I would definately stay there again.

Disliked: There isn't anything I disliked about Annies Homestay.

Liked: When I first came into the house, the people in there were really impressing because they were extremely kind and helpful. Annie, the host, was really willing to know if i think there is any problem or something, and when I ask her something, she helped me very nicely. Unless you do want to stay near George Town, It would be the best one for you to stay in. (But there are 10 min. frequency bus going around near the house, so you can get to George Town in about 30~40 Min. by bus.)

Liked: Definitely one of the best places, I have stayed in Malaysia. Annie and her family really are fantastic hosts. Plus the breakfast is good (just toast and butter but the toast is better than usual and you can get wholemeal bread) and the rooms are spacious and clean.

Disliked: I guess the lack of free wireless is a bit annoying to the internet addicts (like myself). But it was not annoying enough to make an actual dent in my experience with Annie's Homestay as a whole.

Liked: I loved everything. Annie, Raj and the family are among the nicest people you will ever meet. They made me feel perfectly at home and I had a wonderful time thanks to their warmth, friendliness and fantastic sense of humour. Oh, and the room, house and location were excellent too. Top marks all round!

Disliked: this is a genuine great place, however if you have not a lot of time and expect to visit georgetown (which is great), it' s a bit far and takes with local bus (easy to take, but one every 30 minutes or so and is a bit slow and crowded)
