Liked: Didn't seem like a youth hostel at all to me, more of a heritage hotel. Very beautiful building, a little further away from the city centre than some people would like, but it was well worth it with very kind and helpful staff/owners and lovely rooms (we were the only guests during the time I stayed so I sneaked a look at a few of the others). Excellent breakfast too, made to our liking and requested time. I had a heap of laundry and they did everything for just 10 ringgits. Rooms were very clean and it was a nice touch to have HBO on a big screen TV in the room, because I was too tired to go out in the evenings after walking around the city all day! I can't comment on meeting over people because there were no other guests during my stay but the communal areas as well as a garden were large. I would definitely stay here again.

Liked: Excellent place! More a small hotel than a hostel, offering large clean rooms with historical furnishings that bleng in beautifully with the old house. We had one of the Deluxe rooms which had a big LCD TV and a four poster bed! Great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside is that it is a cab/bike ride into town (about 20 mins walk down a busy road). Still worth it in my view.

Liked: A lovely place to stay Chris and his family were lovely. made us both feel very welcome. They would help you in anyway they could. House is lovely and full of character. Chris is an avid collector of Straits Chinese memrobillia and knows the history etc. A really nice stay - thank you

Liked: absolutely brilliant place. this is extremely good value for money as the quality of the place is worth at least a 3 stars hotel rating. its superclean and the hosts couldnt be friendlier. a downset is the location as it is just a bit too far out of the historical centre for walking distance, though a 3 euro cab ride wont hurt anyone. If you need to cool down and relax, this is the place.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff that make u feel at home. Nice, clean room with a big tv on the wall. A 5-10minute drive to Jonker road where the bars and restaurants are. The taxi service is brilliant wth Chris taking you wherever you want to go, and telling you about the history of various parts of Melaka. We would definately stay again. They even gave me a Muffin with a candle on and a little gift for my birthday. Highly recommended!
