Liked: I booked 4 rooms in total for 1 night at Apa Kaba.7 of us occupied the rooms and I would say it is worth every single cents.for a twin room with fan just RM40 per room per night. And you may also opt for a better room with attached bathroom and aircon at RM99.The location is easy to find and at the heart of the city center but you will still find the Apa Kaba quiet and peace at night.Highly recommended for backpackers, friends gathering, etc.

Liked: Apa Kaba is a lovely green oasis in a dusty city. Quiet and green, with lush lawn and mango trees dripping mangoes! Perfect place to stay with two small children under four who needed space to run arpund and explore after being lugged around things their parents wanted to see and do. The staff and owners were lovely and helpful, even walking us to a pharmacy at the local immaculate hospital so that we could deal with our daughter's reaction to the local mosquitoes. Fidelis, Linda and Corrine made our stay social and enjoyable. A great place for families who want space, friendliness and some quiet for the smalls to sleep.

Liked: Apa Kaba is an absolute gem. We loved staying here and only wish we could have stayed longer. It's the most genuine homestay we've experienced in our travels and we loved the way staying here gave us a wonderful glimpse into multicultural Malaysia home life.The room was a good size, with good quiet aircon and ensuite bathroom with a decent hot shower.What made is really special was the family: from the minute we arrived we were welcomed in, offered (gratis) little bites and snacks and were even taken on a wonderful tour of Melaka by Kenny's dad.We absolutely loved staying here. It was a real highlight of Melaka for us.Definitely recommended.

Liked: Security always tops my priority list of choosing accomodation and living at Apa Kaba Home Stay would never bring your any worries about the safety of your personal belongings. Since the host and his family live in the same house, they always keep an eye for any strangers. Besides, the ventilation of the room is good. And the house was built in the traditional Malaysian-Chinese style, which I'm sure it's a special experience for foreigners. Also, the host was unbelievably friendly and helpful. He even offered to drive me to the bus station at 4am! And he never lost patience when you needed help or advice. A wonderful place managed by a wonderful family.

Liked: The family and staff were kind, friendly, and very accommodating. Their home was simple, but large and full of color and character, with a yard to give it a sense of space and privacy. It was a very casual and relaxing place to hang out, I felt right at home there.

Liked: We had a fantastic stay at Apa Kaba. The host Kenny was extremely hospitable and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. The place has loads of character and is in a central location, a little tricky to find at first - but well worth finding. Highly recommended, we were sad to leave!

Liked: Very good hostel to hang out and relax. Beautiful garden. I think in terms of athmosphere and friendlyness of the staff definetely one of the best hostels we ever stayed it. The only thing you have to take care is, that if you put the address of the hostel into google earth, the locations shown might be wrong. So please use the map on hostelbookers...

Liked: The boss of the GH is quite nice and helpful. But it is quite difficult to find the place where it is at the first time, so please make that clear in the instruction.

Liked: The staff is really very nice and helpful. The hostel has a garden where you spend nice hours with other guests or just read a book in the quiet, though the hostel is in the middle of the city. The hostel has a very cute appearance.

Liked: Kenny and his team were exceptional and made us very welcome. We had to cut short our stay unexpectedly and Kenny was really helpful, even inviting us to a family bbq the evening before we left. If you want to stay in a traditional Malaysian home, please stay, here it was wonderful.

Liked: Me and my family like this place, it is very traditional malay-chinese house, I like the fruit tree in the big yard a lot, u can find mango, star fruit and etc. the staff Kenny and his parents, colleague are very friendly and hospitability. they have good sence of history of Malacca, and their recommendation is fairly good. the 2nd night we are bit annoyed by the mosquito at night, but we pretty much understand the big yard! besides, Kenny gave me a nice souvenir, which is Malay male's dress. that is wonderful. last, the location is very good, 5-8mins to the dutch square!,Am i missing something?if so, you can actually email me @patrick12_milan@yahoo.com.cn, I am malacca expert now...wow!

Liked: The owner (Kenny) was very friendly and hospitable, and made us felt at home in many different ways. For example, he told us the background of the kampung and Bukit Cina on our first day and that gave us an insight on Malacca that we never knew before. Also, it rained extremely heavily on our first night and all our clothes were soaked through after a 20min walk in waist-deep waters. Although it was late at night already, Kenny promptly handed us an iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Such a kind gesture really made us felt warm amidst the cold rain outside. Facilities-wise, we were also very happy with the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, and the availability of mosquito coils and drinking water on the compound. We will definitely be coming back to stay the next time we are in Malacca, and this time we will be bringing the whole extended family along too! Keep up the good work at Apa Kaba, Kenny!
