Looking for the wonder of old world charm? Then Discovery Guesthouse, overflowing with traditional Kopi Tiam spirit and touches is the perfect place to stay.

Located strategically in the town center along Jalan Bunga raya, next to Chan Koon Cheng Bridge and literally a stone's throw away from St.Francis Xavier Church. Stadhuys, Little India Street and Jonker Walk are within walking distance as well. Discovery Cafe is truly about nostalgia.

2.) Inside the cafe is a large display of antiques and old photographs of Malacca. There is a wide selection of both local and world travel guides available for guests to browse at their leisure.

3.) Doubling up as a cafe and budget hotel, Discovery Café, which is run by David Heng and KS Teng, recently celebrated its 9th year. By the look of things, it should continue to be a popular destination – especially among foreign budget travelers and shoe-string local tourists.

4.) Food ranging from local delights to western meals, and also all kinds of beverages. Liquor is served here too, but what makes it truly appealing is none other than the ambience and friendly-natured staff who will make you feel very much at home.

5.) At night, the place comes alive with musical groups and talented local live bands. One of the live band guys, Jai, formerly played with one of the country’s top bands, Revolvers. Together they offer their renditions of classics to golden oldies from Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley to Johnny Mathis etc and pop songs.

6.) Regardless of whether you intend to stay for the night, Discovery Cafe is one place you should drop by, just to sit down and have a sip of a cup of coffee or tea and watch the world go by while you savor the scent, senses and sensibilities of the Historical World.
