Liked: Property was easy to find and near everything. It was also really cheap.

Disliked: Found it not as clean as I thought it would be and overall had a run down feel to it.

Liked: Cheap, nearby main attractions, very friendly owner. Guesthouse has character. Pretty clean too.

Liked: Très bonne situation géographique Guest house avec un looks plutôt original et agréable Relativement calme

Disliked: Propreté dans la chambre à revoir (de gros mouton de poussière sous le lit, ne pas marcher pieds nus,...) Attention la clim est payante et est obligatoire sinon nuit torride

Liked: The location's good, only 5 minutes walk to the city centre and a quality matress provided a good night sleep. The setting/decor is quite funky, both floors have their own kitchen and socialising area (sofas, table and chairs) making it quite homey.

Disliked: The place generally needs to be 'freshened up' as it's all looking on the grimy side. I wasn't impressed by the owner's attitude. He turned down a fellow traveller friend who came to look for me telling him i had checked out (I had not!) and did not even offer him a room (just to say we are both perfectly 'normal' people!). On my check-out day, he also gave the wrong pick-up time to my taxi driver: the driver arrived 20 minutes early so the man kept knocking at my door early morning telling me the driver had a double booking hence his early arrival. However the lovely cab driver then told me a different story, he had been given that time all along! Strange man. On that basis, I would not go back to his place nor recommend it. But if you want the cheapest option and a roof over your head then that place is just ok.

Liked: very nice guesthouse, far beyond our expactation! room's clean and facility's good, and the owner Tony's kind and helpful.

Liked: Location is very convenient.

Disliked: The owner was very rude and not very helpful. Every time we ask questions, he seems to be annoyed. We stayed at this hostel because a friend recommended it. While the location is pretty convenient, would have been better if they provided for nice and friendly staff. If you prefer a no frills hostel, this one is ok but expect not to have any service at all and when you book make sure to specify if you want ac or not because the prices posted are only for fan rooms.

Liked: great atmosphere, really nice character, great staff, location is good (you can reach the most important areas of melaka easily by foot)

Disliked: Facilities weren't the newest (but this didn't disturb at all!)

Liked: Owner Tony is awesome, really friendly, helpful and easy going. Place is in a great location and has lots of character and a great vibe.

Disliked: Not much. Bathroom facilities were maybe a bit old.

Liked: Excellent value for money. Tony is also very artistic and his works of arts gives this little budget place more character than the average hostel.

Liked: I highly recommend that you stay here! We had such a fun time in Melaka and staying at Tony's Guesthouse made it that much better. Tony himself is very talkative and will help you with any questions you have. He can give you advise on traveling anywhere in Malaysia. The room was clean and comfortable and there are kitchen facilities that you can use, although the cafe downstairs has fantastic food. Overall our stay here was great!

Liked: Place Definitely has character and value. Tony is a friendly and well traveled dude and he has decorated the place with self done interesting paintings. wifi is also reliable but dont expect to stream anything. my Room had windows so that was a nice plus from the enclosed boxes i have stayed in previously.

Disliked: well it wasn't that clean, but that would detract from its character and heighten the maintenance fees. has no air con, but i was fine with fan.

Liked: It is diffucult for us to evaluate Tony's guesthouse because we stayed in Tony's house next door. When we arrived Tony appologised but the room we booked was not available. Last night's guest got sick and Tony agreed that he stays for another night. He offered us his daughter's room, small place where he somewhow managed to arrange three beds fo us. He charged us only a portion of original price. We were happy paying less and having the bed to sleep. But in fact we have not seen the guesthouse itself. The common area is very nice and is close to the center (5 minutes walk to the Town Sq. )
