Liked: staff were helpful, location was good.

Disliked: really run down. air con was really bad so had to use fan aswell, drainage made room smell really terrible. bad mosquito protection (massive holes in the screens etc) and there are alot. needs a lot of work done to it. oh and bedbugs, massive ones! sorry to say this was worst place we stayed in borneo.

Liked: Clean linen and rooms. Great location. Air con in all the rooms. For the price, this is a good value option.

Disliked: When we arrived the staff member tried to send us away and told us we were at the wrong hostel - it took some persuading to get into our room!! The same happened when our friend arrived one day later. The hostel overall appears a little grubby and the toilets/showers are basic. Very simple breakfast.

Liked: Friendly owner

Disliked: The longhouse tour is relatively cheap, but just not what you expect. We ended up spending two whole days with the families in the longhouse.... drinking... No hunting, cooking or whatever else they promised. It's interesting to stay with a family, but if it's only drinking, it's not worth the money.

Liked: I turned up fairly late last night, but first impressions count. The staff here are fantastic - friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable, the hostel itself has a certain ragged charm, a rugged beauty. The shower certainly emitted water, be it fairly minimally, but still enough to have a wash. I have no qualms with staying on for a couple more nights, then making this my base as I explore Borneo.

Liked: The Hostel is a good place to stay for budget-traveller. It's simple but clean and friendly. Don't miss the pub downstairs, running by a Iban Peter John.

Liked: My room was kind of dumpy and the sheet on the bed was filthy. There wasn't even a top sheet so I had to use my jacket as a blanket. It was quite embarrassing when I brought a girl back to my room. Hey I am not going to let the quality of the room stop me from getting laid. :)
