Overview

Are you looking for a comfortable and affordable home-from-home while you discover the treasures and pleasures of Old Kuching?
Wo Jia Lodge could be just the place you are looking for. We offer style, comfort, atmosphere, value and probably the best location in all of Kuching.
If you appreciate Straits Chinese décor and architecture, you will love our elegantly converted 19th Century shop house, perfectly located on Main Bazaar, directly overlooking the Kuching Waterfront.

COMFORT
All rooms are newly renovated and feature relaxing colour schemes, comfortable beds with quality linen, secure locks, and brand new (i.e. quiet!) air conditioners , fans and free wifi access. Shared guest bathrooms with hot showers are conveniently located on each floor. Our rooms and indoor guest areas are strictly non-smoking, for the health, safety and comfort of all guests, but open-air smoking areas are situated on the 1st and 2nd floors.

ATMOSPHERE
Wo Jia is not a party lodge, but it is certainly a place where you can feel at home, relax and chill out after a day touring the city or trekking in the rainforest. Our spacious guest lounge overlooks the Kuching Waterfront and the new State Parliament Building, and is a great place to get to know your hosts, fellow travellers and have a few drinks.

VALUE
To help your travel budget stretch further, we offer accommodation from less than RM30 per person per night. This is one of the most attractive rates in Kuching and includes a simple breakfast consist of bread or toast with Kaya (coconut jam), butter, coffee or tea. In addition, there are no hidden charges for using any of our facilities (except phone and laundry, both charged at cost).

FACILITIES
We believe that our range of facilities covers everything the budget traveller could possibly need, and then some. Please see the facilities page for full details.

LOCATION
In our opinion (and most of our guests agree!), Wo Jia Lodge has the best possible location in all of Kuching. We are on Main Bazaar, Kuching’s most historic street, directly overlooking the Kuching Waterfront. Other locations may be near to one attraction or the other – Wo Jia is most conveniently located for exploring all the attractions of Old Kuching.

Accommodation Information

Private rooms are air conditioning , Budget privates are fans. .Our guests tell us that our rooms are amongst the most spacious in our market sector, so even if you are travelling with huge backpacks, or lots of communications and camera gear, you are never going to feel packed in like a can of sardines.
Note before booking: Shared Facilities: Most of our facilities are shared (e.g. bathrooms, kitchen area), in order to keep room rates low. Nevertheless, we believe they are more than sufficient in number to avoid the need for queuing, and they are kept spotlessly clean at all times. Some people without backpacking or hostelling experience may miss the privacy of an en-suite bathroom, and are advised to seek more up market accommodation. However, if you have never used shared facilities before, you will find you are sharing with like-minded, considerate people and, in our experience, the concept is very easy to get used to.
