Liked: The good stuff first - It's a funky looking little place on the outside, a restored shophouse, in a great location on Jalan Carpenter in Chinatown. Just one block from the waterfront, and across the road from the best laksa breakfast for about $1.50. The lobby area is small, but comfortable and a friendly place to hang out, and the people who work there are great. .Mr D especially is a hoot. There are two laptops you can use for a small charge. There's a kitchen dining area on the top floor, where you can help yourself to tea and coffee anytime, and free pancakes in the morning. It leads on to a small patio area, which is a great place to watch the goings on in Chinatown. The rooms are just windowless cubicles with a comfortable single bed and a fan. Thin walls mean you can hear everything in your neighbour's room. I hated not having a window and waking up in the dark, unsure if it was night or day. My friend had the only double room with a window and an ensuite shower, but no toilet. It was a little more expensive, but worth paying the difference.(from memory about $28 Australian on hostelbookers). The only bathroom on our floor was pretty dire - broken tiles, not very clean, just a hand held thing over the toilet, so everything got wet.I enjoyed my stay despite the negatives, and would recommend it to ultra budget travellers, but I would stay again only if I got a room with a window.

Liked: A nice place to stay in Kuching ! Very well located with simple rooms but nice shared areas, that makes easy meeting the other travelers. The staff is super friendly and will help you whatever you want to do...and the breakfast is solid and really good.

Liked: A nice place to stay, very friendly staff. Very central, in the middle of Chinatown. Room was kind of a cabin, thus you could even hear the snore of your next door mate. Bath was very simple and the ensuite consisted only of the shower, no toilet. Could have been a bit cleaner sometimes. In general good, but not cheap for what it was.
Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.
