Located walking distance from KL Central, Kuala Lumpur's transportation hub, PODs The Backpackers Home is a hostel that is very accessible to local tourist attractions and offers a cosy atmosphere with affordable accommodation. Rest (is!) assured.

PODs The Backpackers Home is unique in the sense that it is run mostly by people from the local creative, dance and arts scenes. Our two and three quarters platform is opened
to local young artists every First Friday of the month.

Located in an area where there is a focus on the development of the less fortunate, we give discounts for travellers working in NGO's or have some sort of disability if they contact us in advance through our website.

As Backpackers, we encourage diversity and believe in "real people. real destinations" .

Our Hostel only deals with cash and we charge a deposit of RM10 per person upon check in, which will be refunded when you check out.

Group Bookings:
PODs cannot guarantee that groups will be placed in the same dorm due to uncontrollable circumstances, but will try our best to do so.

Our Check In times are 1pm and Check out is at 12pm. Early Check In is subject to bed availability.

If we deem the guests unsuitable, we reserve the right to turn them away.

Accommodation Information

Our Single and Double PODs are partitioned spaces, giving some privacy away from the main 14 and 4 bed dorms. The pods have mattresses on raised platforms to give a Zen like feel, and some come with ceiling to floor lengthed tinted windows, all have individual fans. Shared lights goes out at 11pm. Our dorms have double bunk beds and are in a large area with plenty of personal space.

We have adopted this concept to keep the space :

1. Airy- PODs partitioned walls are not full to the ceiling to promote good air circulation
2. Bright- thus no curtains just tinted windows
3. Clean- no smoking on all floors
Each floor has two eco friendly kampong (village) design hot water shower cabins.

Central air con units are placed stratigically to cool the floors and all designs and themes that have been put up are chosen as best to compliment and promote our eco friendly theme, which is, to be simple, and always go green = less is best, and when traveling, respect the earth!

PODs Backpackers is walking distance from KL sentral, which is the transportation hub of Kuala Lumpur. Buses, trains, monorail, LRT, KTM and taxi's are easily found. Hence travelling to local attractions such as The Golden Triangle, China Town, Mid valley, Lake Gardens, Thean Hou Temple and the National Museum or connecting to other states in the country is very convenient. Located just behind the main road, we are accessible yet away from the main hustle and bustle of traffic.

There are a number of local food stores available in the area, as well as banks, money changers, post office, cheap liquor and 24 hour convenience stores. A must try for local foods is the Cappati at Cappati House, Banana Leaf rice and famous pork noodles. For an Indian Vegetarian Fine Dining experience, ask us about Annalakshmi, they provide good food for a minimum donation.
